I think this could be a good forum for us. It was suggested by another member we start a discussion so I jumped right on it. *lol*

As I sit here typing, my little dog, Jett, is curled up against my back and is gently nudging me towards the edge of my seat because he can't get tucked into my back as he loves to do lately. He senses my pain and sadness or whatever emotions I am having and reacts to it. There are so many wonderful antics I hope to share in the coming days.

Please everyone, if you have cute, funny, loving, whatever posts about loving pets that help you survive the horrible conditions we struggle through, please post them here for us all to enjoy. A tiny ray of light can make a major difference in a vast darkness, I think.

*gentle hugs to you all.. and to your pets as well!*

Hold every person close to your heart
Because you might wake up one day
And realize that you've lost a diamond
While you were too busy collecting stones."

HI... yep I understand my Jack Russel is sitting here next to me..... growling at me..... so that I will stratch her.... I also have 3 other dogs .. one that is a Basset Hound named Pheobe, who thinks she is lap puppy, all 51 inches of her and 53lbs.... I also have 4 cats, 2 goats and 4 horses..... they all help on the really bad days.....

But I have to say my horses have been the best therapy.... something about there gentle quiteness that is so theraputic.... they are powerful majestic animals..... I think that they are just gift to me from God.....

i have lots of pets, one is awesome cat named Linus. his mother is tabby cat but used to "get around" so we don't know much about dad, but linus looks like maine coon cat. i was midwife at his birth, it was love at 1st sight. i knew i had to keep him. he is 4 yrs old and very very spoiled. he is very vocal-meows and chirps. he stands up on his hind legs and reaches his front legs up for me to pick him up. then he will press his head against mine and purr in my ear. just the hug i need sometimes!

Why do Bassets think they are lap dogs? Our crawls right up in the recliner and sits on hubbys lap. "Corndog" is our basset he is my best friend and protector....or so he thinks. He has his place in the recliner with me. or smooshed up againt me in bed.

We lost our beloved Fuzzy (cat) this fall. She'd lived an extremely long life, so it's okay. She was always the one that would be my lap cat, it was like she was trying to absorb all my pain.

We have another kitty too. Her name is Angel. She's our fat cat! Now she has become my lap cat.

We have a dog named Kent. He lives at the farm with my in-laws. Because a couple years back we were gone on vacation. He always went to the farm when we were gone. But this particular time, he wanted to stay. So we let him.

We (our teenage daughter actually) have two horses. Their names are Rusty and Jesse. They are wonderful. Even though, they don't get ridden enough and basicaly are becoming pasture grazers. They are quite the pair.

* Then there's the latest addition to our family. Her name is Gabbi. Our daughter (the teenage one) has wanted a house dog for many years. We finally gave in. So, she rescued Gabbi from the 'county animal rescue league'. She is part terrier and probably part coonhound. We've had her almost a month. She is almost 7 months old now. She has been a lot of work, but a LOT of fun! It is so much fun watching her try to become friends with Angel (our cat). And I guess "one" of the funniest things was today, she sneaked into the bathroom and pulled the whole roll of toilet paper off the roll! I know it wasn't funny, but yet it was. It reminded me of what my daughters did when they were little!

Well, those are our furry, four-legged friends. They truly are a joy to have in our lives.

I have a little gray cat, she will be 1 year old on jULY 5TH. She was the last of the liter I was the mid-wife for the births of a stray. They were all sickly including the mother. After there birth we had six cats in the house. My husband said I could only keep 1. Before they even openned their little eyes, I would look in the box and say "How's grandma's babies" and out of all of them she would look in my direction and meow. Her name is Rascal and the name suites her perfectly. But we made sure we found the others really good homes. She will run around our feet if she wants us to sit down. If you cough she runs to check on you. Her most favorite thing to do is cuddle. And if she like you she gives kisses. She makes us very happy. She just like a child if she does something shes not suppose to she runs to our room.(My hsband and mine.) Whenever we hurt she lays on the spot tht hurts. She's always there when I or my husband don't feel well.

SHE IS WONDERFUL.

My babies....awhhh, I just love em' so much. Its amazing the love that just oozes out of them. Those 'killer' eyes that you just can't resist! They can drive ya crazy at times...like mine did today, but then here all 3 of them, lay around my feet just snoring and dreaming away! They are so innocent and I really think they are such a precious gift from God. When I am sick, they can sense it. They stay close by me through thick and thin. They definitely have a part of my heart. As I said, I have 3 dogs and 1 cat. Dog #1 <Zak> is a purebred Samoyed boy, #2 <Harley> is a golden Retriever boy, #3 <Rosie> is a golden/shephard mix girl and last but not least is my kitty~Sundance aka Sunny. His brother Butch died 3 yrs ago. I couldn't live without them....but shhhh, don't tell them that!

My precious companion and pet is named Jett as I mentioned in the beginning post. I've had him since he was about 7 weeks old. He doesn't have a tail and the breeders couldn't find a buyer for him so he became mine! I am so thankful that others didn't look past his little nub of a tail into eyes that radiate love and comfort and so many other wonderful emotions. I forgot to mention he is part mini-dauschand and part pomeranian supposebly. I have no doubts on the dauschand, just not sure where the pomerainian is hidden. *lol* He is about 10 inches tall and almost 2 1/2 ft long appoximately. He "sits pretty" for treats or when he wants attention, etc. He will sit on his little behind with his feet on each side of his bottom and his back will be perfectly straight, his head held proudly and then he crosses his front paws. I can often tell when he wants a treat from when he wants attention by the way he crosses his paws. If he has them kinda as if he is praying, I know he has either done something "bad" like lost his toy under the bed or sofa or something. He has a similar pose he uses when he knows I am in a great deal of pain but he tilts his head a little bit and he will stick his tongue out. If I blow kisses to him when he does that, he will stick his tongue out each time as if returning the kisses. I just taught him to "cuddle" rather than "kissy" cause sometimes he will start licking/kissing so much you can't get him to stop. Now, I have to keep telling him to "cuddle rather than kissy" to get him to stop. He is getting much better at it. I think he is doing great with this since I only started training him to do it 2 weeks ago. If he wasn't with me during the current situation, I don't know what I would do. He has curled up behind me again and is snoring. *lol*

*peeks behind her to make sure he is sleeping and not reading the monitor* I also couldn't live without my special pet and companion.
