one leg longer than another?

I'll bet your pelvis is twisted - John Barnes says that 90% of chronic Mayofascial Pain people have a twisted pelvis.

I see his son & when I first saw him my right leg was 3/4 inches shorter than my left & I use one & sometimes 2 canes.

he fixed it & now my legs are the same length & I don't use the canes. Mr. daughter saw him because her hip hurt & same thing - he fixed her leg length in one session & her hip dosn't hurt any more.

i seen a chiropractor for over 6 months and he would fix it but it would eventually would return to where it was. my left foot is also 3/4 inches shorter than the other. so i got special made orthonics for my shoes. they help with the hip pain i can now walk without hip pain. the orthonics also helped with the foot pain.

I was taking 200 mg of gabapentin but the foot doc told me to increase it to 300 mg so I've been taking that for a week now?? I'm like you I can't describe my pain, it hurts inside, outside, bottom, top, I know it sounds crazy but I just can't explain it?? I think I'm going to talk to my doc and see if I should increase the gabapentin or if she thinks the lyrica would be better?? It's all a gamble!!! I'm sorry you are hurting and I understand about not wanting to wait, you get to that point!!! Thanks for the info. I'll send pondering reality a post.

I'm on 300mg twice a day, yes, I would say if you have been at 200mg for quite some time, it's time to either adjust or switch. I think my doc said we could go up to about 1800mg a day and people that use the drug for seizures can use 2400mg per day...my #'s may be a bit off, but it's been a few weeks since I was a the doc. Yes, def talk to your doc about it! I'm with you, it's just hard to explain the pain, it's like nothing we have ever felt before. I tell people I can only imagine that what I feel must be similar to someone having all of their bones crushed in their foot. "pondering" should get back to you where you posted, or here...she usually is on every night that I'm here, so keep checking back!

I'm not a big fan of gabapentitan I've tried it a couple of times & there was that criminal fraud conviction & $483 million doller fine against the manufacturer for touting it for fibro & other off label usages but aside from that I think the std fibro dosage for men is 1800-2400MG per day to be effective & around 1200-1800 for woman.

Wow, I guessed about right, lol! I don't think there is some miracle out there. I'm sure there are people that Gabapentin works on or it wouldn't keep getting prescribed. I just think that if we are on it, we need to see the doc on a regular basis to get a fine-tuned dosage, but with that said, the doc also needs to realize we have immediate concerns, pain/flaring that need to be taken care of in the mean time.

Thanks for the info. I've heard this about B vitamins, I'll get this checked out. I know what you mean about feeling like walking on a marble, the same here but the foot doc said she wouldn't take them out unless they were hurting me really bad and so far they aren't hurting just annoying. Linda

Hi and welcome! I just wanted to let everyone know that when I working at my family doctor's office, he tried me on Lyrica. That was probably 2 years ago, it was supposed to be for diabetic neuropathy, but he thought it might help me. My legs and hips hurt so bad I couldn't hardly move. When I mentioned it to my doc, he did some more research on it and found that this was a side effect of this medicine. He took me off of it and the pain went away, except for the regular leg and hip pain. Hope this helps.

So, Lyrica is kind of like Cymbalta. When I worked as a med secretary a couple of years ago, one of my patients in the nursing home was prescribed Cymbalta and we had to look up what it was for. Well, we read that it was for depression and diabetic neuropathy. Interesting.

That's too bad that it had such side effects and made things worse for you! Luckily your doc was intuitive enough to find out that info and take you off the med.
