I dust all of my electronics with used dryer sheets. Then I only have to do it every couple of weeks. And we live on a dirt road.

I remembered another one---we do a "five minute pick-up" or 10 minute what ever. We (my kids and I) all pick up for 5-10 minutes before bed, or during commercials. At least the big stuff gets picked up before the rat race the next day!

To make cleaning easier I just have my husband do it! just kidding, I do keep a vacumm on one floor and another on the other floor so I don't have to pack it around. Kaze

When you have a really good day or your children over to help, use car wax on your shower and tub. Clean it with regular cleaner and get the soap scum off and then put on the wax just like you would a car. It keeps the soap scum from sticking to the tub and shower. I got this idea when we put in a whirlpool tub and it was in the installation instructions. It works

I have a box that has index cards with weekly chores in it. Each day everyone in the house pulls one card and does that chore. The card goes into another box and at the end of the week we start over. Also every one has age appropriate chores of thier own for each day. Beyond that, my house is allways a mess

I live on a farm in the country and we have 5 kids among my husband I. ( My second Marriage, his first and he has custody of his 2 girls) Anyway, in the springtime I love to open my windows and have the breeze come in. If you use liquid fabric softener in your washing machine, put some in a spray bottle and use one part softener and one part water then spray it on your curtains. when the wind blows your house smells of fresh clean linen.

Dryer sheets are great to pin to the back of your couch also if your couch is against a wall.

Fresh cut lilacs in a vase of water will smell nice throughout a large room for days.

Oh and my signs in my house about cleaning and kids read "Please excuse the noise and mess, the kids are making happy memories"

"This house isn't under construction, kids just live here"

"Rasising a teenager is like nailing jello to a tree"

and my favorite one that hangs in my kitchen is....

"No Husband was ever shot while doing the dishes"

I'm really pretty OCD about my house. It's not spotless. But Im anal about it being picked up. My house looks homey and lived in, but not trashy and cluttered and thats how it should be. I love my house in the country.... Here is my barn

OMG...your farm and family sound fantastic. I like your hints about the fabric softner...I think I'll use that one. We have 3 dogs and 1 cat and I'm always worried that company can 'smell' their odor when they walk in our house!

You know how we always make up a "Honey Dew" list for our better halves? Well I sat down last night and made my own "I gotta do it cause nobody else will" list. You know, those chores that you don't do every week, or monthly for that matter! Soooo, my plan is this: Every day (hopefully) I am going to do 1 or 2 'required' chores (dishes, vacuum) and then I'm gonna look at my other list...and pick 1 thing to do! Of course you know I'll cruise that list and pick the easiest one first but it will be one more thing that gets done. I don't promise that this 'method' will last the whole month, but I have the best of intention! Either way, I HAVE TO get my butt in gear as we will have 'out of towners' coming for a visit at the ed of the month. Lord, I'm gonna have to fight my way into the guest bedroom and send a search party to find the bed.....under all the clothes and crap on the bed. Wish me luck!!

ANd on another unrelated note....thanks JustAnnie..I now have that Beach Boys song in my head, but I'm gonna switch to the "Margaritaville" here soon!

I like your signs. I need a couple of those. I try to do what I can around the house and the things that make me hurt worse I just tell everyone else they are going to have to do them. I don't vacuum because that makes my back and arms hurt to the point of having to lie down, so someone else has to do that. I can usually fold laundry one load at a time and I can cook as long as it is easy meals. I can't get into cooking the whole family dinner thing anymore. I am really good at lying on the couch and making sure it doesn't move and that no one steals the rocking chair because I am in it. I think these are important things no one else in my house thought of.
