Mydragonfly and I were talking the other day and thought it would be neat if everone shared new ways they clean up the house and make it easier too.

Since so many of us have limited movement - how have some of you learned to do

'tricks" you now use to clean. Just think: we could do one of those dummy books! on housework for fibros

Booklady, thank you for starting this. I just have not had the time. I am glad you remembered our talks about this.

I spray down my shower with cleaner, then I use a broom to scrub the walls and floor of the shower and tub. This way I dont have to get down on my hands and knees

I get each family member a different color. Hangers, towels, plastic cups. That way I can just look at something and know who did what by the color of what is left our or not washed.

I have a dry eraser board. I right down all the things that I need to do. then I can cross them off as I get them done. it might take me a week,to do them all. I get to see satisfaction in crossing them off one at a time.

I will think of other thinks I do.

Now lets hear what others do to make things easier.

I make a list--usually a weekend list--on Friday. I talk it over with my kids an Sat morning and we divide up the chores that we need to get done. I prioritize the list with the thing that must get done at the top. We start at the top and move through. Do I always get all the things finished by Sunday night---of course not. But, we work on them throughout the week and start over on Friday again.

I also have everyone in the house "trained" to spray down the showers with a spray cleaner Tilex maybe, it helps so when I do have to scrub it isn't really bad!

Huuummm--I will keep thinking I think this is great for all of us to share ideas!

---We all have our own clothes basket in the basement. As the laundry is done each item can be placed in the owners basket. This deletes the process of sorting and then each child can carry his/her laundry basket to their room and put it away.

Thanks for the idea about spraying down the shower. I have never tried that.

Hey, here's a hint I learned quite a while ago.

If you use liquid body soap instead of bar soap, you don't get the soap scum build up that bar soap leaves.

Another idea are those Scrubbing Bubbles automatic shower clean sprayer thingies that automatically spray down the shower after you're done.

Oh oh, white vinegar and water makes great window cleaner. Dry them with newspapers. Dunno why, but they will shine like nothing else and it cuts residues.

Now if I could only get the preschoolers to clean up after themselves, the dogs and cats to not puke on the floor, food makers to make crumbless and non-sticky food, I might be in great shape!

I do take advantage of bath water splashed on the floor to clean it while I'm drying it (scooting around on a towel I stand on).

I have a spare bed that proves to be a very nice place to pile the clean laundry on, my vacuum stops working every couple minutes which forces taking a break before it will start again, and I found that if you don't turn a lot of lights on, you don't see all the dust LOL!

I saw a commercial for this robot vacuum cleaner on TV. No kidding!

It was hilarious. The wife/mother (of course it would be a woman!)

is sitting on her sofa while this machine goes around the floor sucking up lint and debris off the carpet. Her husband and sons are shown as live jackasses in the living room! LMAO! I doubt it works very well, but I sure like the idea of a robot doing the housework...sorta like on The Jetsons. Okay, I'm showing my age.

The Jetsons was a futuristic cartoon from the 60's where robots did everything.
