new here, just wanted to say hello. I'm Jade, 40, live in Charlotte, NC. diagnosed with fibro 7 years ago but had symptoms as far back as 1994.

married, 21 year old son, 18 year old daughter, 4 1/2 cats (we're keeping one for our former neighbors until they find a house that will let them have pets ) and a dog.

just received my disability denial today - even though i knew it was coming, i'm still massively depressed and drowning my sorrows in junior mints at the moment.

i'm very glad to have found this forum where i can be among people who understand!!

Oh Jade...first...Welcome...but then...did you have to mention drowning yourself in Junior Mints? I just emailed my husband to get a BIG box of them when he is at the store doing our weekly grocery shopping tonight. Later tonight I'll be sitting back with my cheeks bulged out from all those good minty chocolates!!

Please don't be discouraged by your denial. This is normal. In fact, sorry to say, you will probably get turned down for a total of 3 times. That seems to be their process. But it is money that you paid into the system, and you CAN'T give up....they will realize that you won't go away....like a nagging little nat...and then you will be awarded what is due to you! Been there, done that process, so please don't be discouraged. Take that box of Junior Mints and go sit out on your patio..breath in the fresh air, and look around at natures beauty. That is of course unless your window or patio looks at the garbage cans. Wishing you a good night. Now I'm gonna go raid the freezer and suck down a Fudgcicle.
