Hello everyone.

I am new here so I thought I would introduce myself. This would go much faster if I would stop transposing my letters

I'm not sure when I started getting sick. I think it may have been when I was pregnant with my fifth child. It was an extremely stressful time form me. I shook constantly and my doctor was concerned about a possible neurological problem. He never checked into it though. I was also constantly exhausted but chalked it up to being pregnant.

After my daughter was born I got a job at a retail store. After a year or so I started having problems with dizziness and numbness and extreme fatigue. During this time my dad was also dying so I was trying to help care for him while working full time and homeschooling my kids.

Several times I ended up at the emergency room. They ran many tests including an MRI and CAT scan. They found lesions on my brain. The doctors thought I had MS. I went to a neurologist who acted like I was stupid and said it was just migraines (which I also have).

I began having extreme pain along with the fatigue and weakness. I finally quit my job. I just couldn't take it any more. I went to another doctor who said I needed a psychological evaluation. I never went back.

I finally found a doctor who said I "probably" has fibro and chronic fatigue as well as a possibility of lupus (which my mother has). However, the meds she gave me didn't help and she wouldn't give me anything else.

Then we moved to Florida and I haven't seen a doctor since. I have been getting continually sicker since we moved. I even got mono, in March, of all things. Finally, I have an appointment to see a doctor who seems to specialize in fibro. They say she is really wonderful. I hope so because I have been mostly bed-ridden for two months now. It is getting old.

My husband thinks if I just start walking again I'll feel better. He doesn't really get it. But then again, who does?

Anyhow, sorry this was so long. I guess I needed to vent a bit. If you have actually gotten to the end of this, I appreciate you reading about me. I look forward to getting to getting to know you all.

Kat

hello and welcome. There is a lot of information here and at sites we can suggest. You need to try and educate your hubby. after you see this new doc. if you are happy with what the doc has to say. Take your hubby with you and let the doc talk to you both about what is going to go one with this illness.

I hope I have been of some help.

If you ever have a question, just ask and you well get several people that will help you out.

Thank you.

I have been doing so much research lately on fibro (research is second nature to me since I am a writer) and I am learning so many new things. I guess I mainly wanted to find people who appreciate learning about this illness. What better way to be able to deal with it!

My family doesn't really want to know. They think it will just go away if they ignore it. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Anyhow, I'm sorry that so many people feel as lousy (or worse) as me. But I'm so glad to know people who know what I am going through.

Kat

Glad to meet you both! I have only been in the Keys for about a year. Actually, I've been wishing I wasn't since I seem to be much worse here. Maybe it is a coincidence though.

I love the ocean and on the rare occasion that I get out, I love to just look at the water. I used to scuba dive and kayak. But then again, I used to do a lot of things....
