I have had Fibro for over 20 years...and I didn't have the stiffness in the beginning. The stiffness has progressed just the past 10 years, and with each year is getting worse. All I do that helps is a really warm shower or bath, and move around a little while your in there.Like my hands are really bad,so I open and close my fists...and after a few minutes they start to loosen up.But it is hard, and it hurts. But stiffness irritates me and hurts,so it comes down to whats the lesser of the 2 evils.I wish I had more or better advice, sorry.JL

I understand, trust me.But in all honesty, having it for this long doesn't make it easier for me to understand, deal with,or know what to expect. This disease is so unpredictable, and so confusing its scary. It has symptoms that you may or may not get.It affects everyone differently and no one reacts to meds the same. Its still relatively new as far as treating it goes and doctors having much knowledge about it.And that makes this disease even harder to work with.My body is still developing more and more symptoms.I never know what I'm gonna wake up with the next morning.I think sometimes I'm still in denial...I just can't accept I'm gonna be this way for the rest of my life.

I get stiff even if I just sit in a chair. It is especially painful in my hips and feet. I was hoping this would go away when the weather got warmer. I have only been dx since October. The mornings are rough. I just try to keep walking and I ony sit on the edge of chairs, so I can get up easier.

I set my alarm for a half hour before I really need to get up. this gives me time to slowly stretch and wake up in bed before my feet hit the floor. When I get up I still may be stiff but I have the extra half hour to get moving. As far as a shower for me as hot as I can tolerate and as long as I can. Another reason for the extra half hour so I can stay in the shower longer. I hope this helps

Hi to all!

I feel at times like Frankenstein! I mean, it takes forever to get moving since it hurts all the time.

Hot showers are good, if I can get the energy up for it!

I have found as the years get on (22 yrs now) that I am stiffer and stiffer. It waxes and wanes at times but it's pretty steady anymore....

Hope all have a decent day!
