story. I'll try to make it concise and brief, but I'm not making any promises (LOL)! I first noticed 'something' wasn't quite right when I was a child. I didn't want to play with other kids because I didn't feel well, no energy, and my thinking was 'foggy'. At age 8, I had surgery to correct bladder reflux. From that point, the achiness became worse and I developed what I now know to be endometriosis around my bladder, female organs, etc.. Needless to say, my monthly cycles were terribly painful, requiring heavy-duty pain medications. Through my teen years and on, I continued feeling 'not right', but thought it was just the way I was 'made'. After 3 pregancies (my first was stillborn - in heaven with our Lord), the cramps, etc. were all but gone. When my youngest was 3, it all came back. Over 4 years, I had 4 surgeries to remove endo, cysts, and eventually a complete hysterectomy. Soon after, I noticed the FM was extremely bad. I spent 2 years in the bed or couch. I could no longer sing (my profession), because I couldn't be on stage due to the FM and Interstitial Cystitis which I had developed. Thank God, after a year of bladder instillations (in doctor's office and self-administered at home or on the rare vacation), it is almost completely gone! The FM, however, is still with me. I've made some progress, in that I have lessened my pain medication from Morphine,Lortab and Soma down to a lower dosage of the Lortab and Soma as needed. I did not tolerate the Morphine (although it helped greatly with the pain), because of respiratory issues and too much sedation. I feel like 4 years of my life has been taken away and the worse thing is that I don't remember many things. FibroFog is awful. My Mom and Dad support me emotinally, but my husband believes that if I stop taking the medications (which are very few), I will be 'cured'. He is so misinformed, and believe me, I've tried so many times to inform him. I don't even talk about it anymore. I also have epilepsy (a mild form) and must take a strong medication for it as well. I have hypothyroidism, low white cell count, low adrenal gland function, and my hormones are all out of balance. I refuse to take an HRT....know too many women who have gotten breast cancer within a year of taking HRT! I also have a recurrence of Rhabdomyolisis (which I don't understand), so I'm trying to find out how this all relates to each other....I want my life back!!!! Will write more later....thanks to all for your support on this site.

Dani

Welcome Dani, sounds like your life has been quite the ride. You are going to love the people here, they are so supportive and have been there for me more times than I can count. Looking forward to getting to know you better.
May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.

Hi Dani,

Have you ever taken a cholesterol lowering med? There have been some that have caused Rhabdomyolisis and that's why they were pulled from the market.

It's good to hear that you have your parents' support. I'm sorry that your husband is having such a hard time dealing with this
