I have never joined an online group before. I have had fm for 6 years now. I have learned to deal with the pain most of the time but last week began one of the worse weeks i've ever had in 6 years and I'm still not under control. I finally decided I needed to find people who understood what i was feeling without me needing to explain.

Hi Snoopy! I'm glad that you joined our cyber-family. I'm Jenni. I've had Fibro for about 7 years. You don't have to explain to us how badly you hurt. We know. We're in the same place. I've only been here since last month and it's one of the best boards I've been to. You'll find friends here that will give you support and will need your support.

My disabling chronic illness is more real than your imaginary medical expertise.

Hi Snoopy! Believe me, when I tell you I understand the pain of fibro. You already know that you'll have good days and bad days. Yesterday, I hurt so bad that I thought I would kick the bucket and die due to pain. Today I feel much better---almost human. lol We are all here for you. I'm a new member myself. I joined sometime last week I think---fibrofog. You are going to be fine. We are all going to be fine. Hang in there. ((((((Snoopy)))))

That would be us. With no visible sighns of illness or a definative test that actually shows anything, it's hard for people to believe that we feel soooo bad physically. At least sufferers of MS have more understanding. I assume its because that disease has been formally recognised for a longer period of time. But with both MS and fibro, you can't depend on yourself to be able to do what you had planned. --What will keep me from accomplishing my tasks toda? A headache, foggy brain (should I even drive today?), too much pain in my neck or lower back, did I get enough quality sleep (or sleep at all!) to function during the day? Yes, we'll understand alright!Smile

Welcome, Snoopy. I, too, didn't have anyone to turn to for the last few years. It has been a Godsend to have found the sites that I am on regularly. The ppl in our lives just DO NOT understand and can't be expected to honestly. But WE NEED to be able to go to someone that does understand us, without question and be given support when ever we need it. And it also is very healing to give ppl support who need it, I have found.

I am glad you have found our little group, and stay with us while it grows en mass!

I'm new too. But on this site you get some really great and quit responses. I've finally come to accept that on my good days, that's when I get stuff done( and even that's light} Then there are the so-so days where you hurt but you trudge aroung and maybe even get supper on the talbe. And then comes Just getting up and going to the bathroom causes enough pain you want to cry. And then the sadness and despair sinks in and you pray that tomorrow will be better, because that's all you can do. I also don't waste my really good days doing what I don't like or being with people I don't want to be with. As precious as good days are DON'T WASTE THEM
