i've been on lyrica for 7 weeks now and i found that taking it right before breakfest and right before dinner seems to help with the cravings. i gained a few pounds in the first couple of weeks but since i changed my schedule i have lost more than i gained.

I have MASSIVE sugar cravings with Neurontin, too (it's related to Lyrica - I haven't found enough reasons to make the switch to Lyrica from Neurontin). Other than sugar cravings, it works pretty well for the zinging, zapping nerve pain. But the SUGAR!!! OMG!!!

I've been buying bags of Milk Chocolate Doves. I used to prefer the dark but now, the light rocks!!! I've been baking with white and butterscotch chips because they are sweeter. I've been mixing honey with the peanut butter. And frozen waffles with real syrup are awwweeeesssooommmmeeeeee. But it is frustrating. And I've been on it for years, but I went up to the highest dose last April. It was April when all this really kicked in high gear. So, I'm wondering the same thing you are - whatever causes the craving, does it go away at some point?

i was switched from neurontin to lyrica 7 weeks ago. i have neuropothy in my right leg. the lyrica reduced my cravings in few weeks. the lyrica is more expensive then the neurontin but you don't have to take as much. welcome to the group lori, by the way i'm lori too.

Would a diet aid from the doctor help the sugar cravings?

well, im on neurotin, (gabaphintin) and my doctors wanted me on lyrica, so i went on lyrica for 2wks, and i started swelling alot in my feet, legs and ankles, little sick to my tummy so i stopped the lyrica. well, i still have swollen legs, ankles and feet, so i was going to ask if i could go back on lyrica and not worry about the swelling and all. Just get past it. Now u all have me wondering if i should or not.

Wondering!
