I was just taken off Lyrica because of side effects - calcification of bones and arthritis. The tapering was easy for me; however, I am now in more pain than before.

Sorry the pain is so bad. Do you take any supplements? Magnesium with malic acid has been my "main" help since my diagnosis in 2003. I've also had good results with Vitamin D in helping with the pain...for some odd reason. Just a couple of suggestions...want you feeling better.

And...WELCOME. I'm also fairly new to the group...

I really wanted to try Lyrica but my health insurance doesn't cover it good enough because it's too new so I can't afford it. I heard that vitimin E is good for pain too I hacn't tried it yet though.

Arthritis is a side effect?

I'm glad I'm not taking it anymore. I have enough arthritis already.

I'm in pain right along with you. Finally after many tears and prayers I'm going to the pain clinic next month on the 28th. I still have this fear that they wont help me, but I guess it' because I have been left to suffer for so long that I don't want to get my hopes up.

I used to get excited when my doctor would give me something new and say this has helped many people! Everything seems to make me sick or doesn't help at all. The only thing I took that didn't make me sick was Tramadol, but it did absolutely nothing for my pain. I thought this muscle relaxer I'm on would help the knots in my upper back and neck loosen up, but it also hasn't helped.

Every time something doesn't work out for me it's such a big let down.

I hope you find something that works for you and I hope that you don't have to wait as long as I have.

Thanks. I'm now only on Effexor XL which does help with anxiety. Nothing for pain. Two of my sisters have encouraged me to get some kind of pain medication - they're both nurses - but my doctor doesn't seem to like to give any. I'm allergic to codiene (no pulse), so it does limit a lot of medications. Any suggestions?

Last night, one day after I had finished "tapering" off Lyrica, I had horrible terror nightmares. I didn't get to sleep until 5:30 this morning. Is this common?

I need some help!!!!

HI mihoshi,

I'm on Lyrica, which is working great for me, but I didn't know about these side effects. Can you tell me more about them?

Mihoshi, I have been tapering off the Lyrica and have been having nightmares too. I have been told it is a side effect. For me, it's a good thing I won't be taking it anymore cuz the side effects outweighted the benefits. I am grateful for those that get relief for it though.

Hi Everyone,

I'm also interested in hearing more about Lyrica causing/affected arthritis. My mom recently increased her dose to 150mg three times a day and her rheumatoid arthritis has flared terribly .

Last week she was completely confined to bed rest (doctor's orders) and her sedimentation rate was sky high!

Thanks in advance for any info .

Go to www.PfizerHelpfulAnswers.com and see if you would be eligible for free or discounted Lyrica.
