"I have Crohn's Disease along with Fibromyalgia." (katiek)

MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

I have my kids help me take the laundry down to the basement, load it into the washer and dryer, then carry it back up the steps when done.I never do more than one load a day as it is all I can manage and easily tires me out. As far as dishes, I mainly use paper plates and cups whenever possible, and try to have one dish or pot meals so there are not a lot of greasy pots and pans to hand wash.

I have been known to throw a large bath towel which color coordinates with my kitchen over my kitchen sink full of dirty dishes

(just the left side of my double sink; the other side has the disposal and I use that side to rinse) until I feel well enough to get to them. I have even stuffed greasy pots and cookie sheets in the oven to get them out of site until I feel up to washing them.

It helps my spirits not to have to stare at dirty dishes and greasy pots and pans. During my longer flares it might take me a week to get to those dirty pots in the oven! Then I have to pay my older son a little extra allowance to get him to pitch in and wash them, but it is worth it. Hang in there! Pace yourself and try not to worry about the housework, it will get done in time, but if you overdo and try to get it done all at once on a good day you may trigger a flare that will last for days or weeks.

My Motto: Women with immaculate houses lead dull lives!!!"

I think, I know that if you get to know me better that is scary but if people don't like the way my house looks than they can either clean it or not come over. They come to see me not my house. Martha Stewart i am not anyway she needs a life. We are all doing what we can, when we can and that is good enough. I wake up everyday thinking that I will do what I can and not judge myself for what doesn't get done. My husband has learned to live with the little things that use to get done not being done now. Life isn't black and white I now have alot of gray areas besides my hair. Where are those smiley things!!!

Hey, I just thought of a website that I visit once in a great while it's Flylady.com. She divides the housework into daily sections so that each day you only do one room or what you can. That way you don't feel like you are never going to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Bright light! I think I will try it and see if it helps me and if it does then maybe you all can try it. Ok Jean, the Goddness of Slow Movers.

HI AND THANKS. I have sent an email to local news to ask they do a segment on FM it would help if people would understand. my mom calls me lazy because i use a head set to talk on the phone. I can't hold the phone long. It makes me feel worse when people don't understand. I have nephews and a neice that has had babies and I don't hold them for fear i will drop them. I have not had a good day in over a week.
