Kychick,

I too had surgery on my neck 6 months ago. Same two levels as you. My neck and middle of my back hurt most of the time. I prayed and prayed that I had been misdiagnosed with Fibro and it was all in my neck, but no such luck. Do you take pain meds for your neck? I think mine is as good as its going to get and I need to get off the pain meds, but I just don't know how I'll get everything done without them. I still work full-time. It's depressing, but I think I have to come to terms that I just will always hurt.

I also have severe pain in my neck and the middle of my back. I have had 3 steroid injections in my neck and 2 in my cack, none of which have helped. I have to see my pain doc tommorrow morning and I know he is going to suggest neck surgery. I hav a heriated disc at c5-c6. I am currently on oxy and percocets. And I take valium and neurontin at night. I'm alittle scared of the neck surgery an I did hear from others who have had it done that it actually made it worse.

prince... I know exactly what you're going through. It got for me to be a matter of being able lift my left arm and walk on left leg. The nerves were compressed in my neck but affecting my whole left side. So there really was no choice for me, but, it wasn't a cure-all. Things are just different. I don't have that weakness, but my neck muscles are stiff and sore all of the time to some degree. With the FM and CMP that I also have..... well you know. I guess it's just a matter of learning to accept that there will always be pain.
