I was just diagnosed with Fibro 3 weeks ago. I was put on Lyrica. It helps me sleep at night once I fall asleep, but I'm groggy in the morning. I find it hard to take it during the day because I have to stay alert. What advice do you have for me? anybody?

I have been told by my dr that I should try to take it closer to dinnertime than bedtime. That way it will help me fall asleep but also won't leave the hangover in the am. I hope this helps you.

Also, welcome to the group. Everyone here is very supportive and caring. Just receiving the diagnosis can be overwhelming, so ask all the questions you have. We'll be here to help you whether you have questions, need to vent, be silly, whatever...so jump right in and post away.

Hi Toni...and welcome!

I'm not on Lyrica and haven't tried it either! But, many members have and there are discussions on it, on here as well...so take a peek around and search 'Lyrica' and that should take you to the posts on it!

Again, welcome and feel free to pm me anytime as well....I'm here for you as well as myself!

Welcome to the group, I have tried Lyrica and am unable to take it due to severe migraines. I agree with suzee, look around here there are all kinds of info available,as well as wonderful people to meet.
May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.

kesslmama, I have only had one migraine with the Lyrica, but I can't stop the nausea, sooooooooo I quess I will head back to the doctor. The only thing that has given my body peace is LORTAB. But I have to see if its addictive or not. Because I won't allow myself more than 2 a day and it says four a day, but I am nervous. Will let you know. Kaze

Hello Again,

Thank You for all of your welcome, everyone seems so nice and it is wonderful having someone to talk about this. I've only told 2-3 people about my illness and they don't understand it.

I'm on Lyrica, 75mg one am, one at noon and 2 at pm, which is too much for me to handle, so I cut back to 2 at pm. I get dizzy and groggy if I take it at work but I'm still in pain, so I don't whether to take the meds at work and be groggy or be in pain all day. I also take celebrex for arthritis in my knees and back. I'm 48 years old and seem to falling apart.

Does anyone know what it good for swollen shoulders, hot or cold pack?

Toni, that is exactly what happens to me if I take Lyrica during the day. And Naseated, its not helping my pain either. The chiroprators always told me to rotate heat and ice The say the ice takes down the swelling and the heat I think helps the inflamation. But the doctors told me to take Alive, 2 twice a day 2 times a day. They said no more than that because you can get a bleeding stomach. I will be 48 this year Im with you, Kaze
