Karen Sue,

You might have carpel tunnel syndrome...look into it. It is from repetitive movements.

Hugs,

please add me to the list of nuts with both wristpain and the heartbeat in the ear thing. i know I have carpel tunnel but some days I know the fibro has mad it excruciating. The heart beat thing I was just to my doctor and mentioned. He listened to my neck to the arteries and said they sounded good so not to worry. so now if they are not ringing they are beating. I think there is a band in my head sometimes

Another symptom.....omg, when will it end? This is very depressing. Everytime I turn around it seems, there is another symptom....and it is just usually stuff that I have learned to live with....because the docs don't seem to be worried.

I too was tested for carpal tunnel and it was negative.

I have had horrible right wrist pain.. It gets so bad I want to cry. I rub some ointment on it called Myoflex which is similar to BenGay only it isn't greasy and doesn't smell.. It helps for about 20 minutes and then the pain comes back. I have recently found a wonderful orthopaedic surgeon who has given me a couple of cortisone injections. One in my foot and one for my wrist. That has seemed to help for about 3 weeks now. It doesn't take all of the pain away but it does help alot.

I have the heartbeat in my ear, I just think of it as the same "little man" as the one who is constantly pounding on my head to get out. My wrists hurt alot and my doc gave me wrist braces and that seems to help.
May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.

I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel about 12 years ago (I'm currently 25)... in February, I saw a doc again about the carpal tunnel because my current job is completely computer work, and I have been in unbelievable amounts of pain. Well, he said I definitely don't have carpal tunnel because I don't wake up with numbness in my wrists/hands... he then did a couple other tests to confirm that. He sent me to physical therapy, where I've been going now since. It's simply from repetitive motion, but they've adjusted my workstation to make it ergonomic, as well as giving me wrist braces. Oddly enough, it was within those visits with the physical therapist that Fibromyalgia was introduced to me. Since then, I have been diagnosed with FMS and have been basically treating the symptoms of the wrist pain and fibro in PT. I can't say it's helping immensely, but it's at least taking the edge off.

As for the heartbeat in my ear, I've never heard of that... I guess I'm half a nut?

Kristin

I may have fibromyalgia, but fibromyalgia is not me.

Wrist braces sound like a good idea....I might have to ask my doctor about that. I had an injection in my hand which helped I also had one in my foot....The one I had in my foot is wearing off quickly and I am starting to have alot of pain...I start PT Tuesday so I think I will ask them about my wrist and getting braces...
