Do we have to talk about weight, as I sit here eating a Little Debbie snack cake??? LOL

Anyway, I already had a problem with weight and now have gained over 20 lbs on all my new meds, so now really fluffy! (you know, ewes not fat yous fluffy).. I eat when I am depressed, lonely, sad, happy, etc etc etc. And I get no exercise because of fibro, heart problems, v-tach, etc etc etc... HELP! Gosh I need to do what Suze did. PM coming you way!

I have gained weight from the Lyrica too. I tried the atkins diet which worked well for me in the past and I did not have as much success. I have to have the lyrica. I tried going without it and I had to take so much pain medicine I couldn't function. There is a new med coming out in December. I hope it helps the pain without the weight gain. I went to a seminar on lyrica and the speaker stated that weight gain was minimal and only a side effect in some people. What a joke. I thought I was the odd one out. Now I find out after reading this that I am in the norm.

Hi everyone,I have been on Lyrica for 6months gained some but went back down, its all about the food you eat and get moving...

I hurt, my legs from work all day, my neck, shoulder, back and my head but I go to curves atleast 3 days a week no matter what in a good week 4 days,

i feel so good after and it makes all my muscles so much better,(inless I feel really good and over due it)

I know everyone Is different but moving is better...

also have a underactive thyroid, so deal with that when it comes to my weight, so I baddle the bulge everyday and my whole life!!

good luck everyone

I gained 10 pounds since September when all of this fibro stuff started happeneing to me. I started Lyrica about a month and a half ago and gained 5 pounds already. I am trying to walk everyday and do stretches and I am trying to watch what I am eating. It is so hard because the way I usually lost weight was from high impact cardio which I can no longer do any more. So I hear all of you with feeling frustrated about weight!

Hi old friends and welcome to the new ones. I have been a way for a bit. I've had a rough go of it for a bit, but I'm back in the saddle.

The issue of weight gain is one most of us fight. I have finally started to lose the 40+ lbs I gained thanks to my meds. I have increased my fruit and veggie intake to about 10-12 servings a day. Actually I crave veggies. I'm not a big starch or sugar eater and that helps a great deal. I do force a bit of healthy protein into my diet. I start my day with protein. It sounds simple I know, but it's working. I've lost 10 lbs since November. It's not a lot but every little bit helps.

Stay strong my friends.

So Mochajava,

how much fruit do you eat per day? I'm eating mostly fruits and veggies, but I'm afraid I'm eating too much fruit. Thanks! Elisheva

Hi guys,

I bought a juicer last year and now I can juice my fruit and veggies. Together and seperate. No, I'm not crazy. Well, a little, but that's besides the point. Anyways, it's really good and filling. You can get all of you're fruit and vegetable serving for the day in one glass...and it's not gross. You have to just find the right mix you like. Mostly mixing apples, pears, grapes, and blueberries, with leafy greens and carrots. It tastes sweet. You would be amazed how much food you can fit into 1 glass. And it's fun to gross out the kids when you're drinking something green...haha. But they like some of the drinks too.

Does anyone eat because they are sad. I eat because I don't feel like doing anything else.

I know what you mean Sandi, I also quit smoking last April, wow, one year ago almost, didn't think I would do it....anyway, I gained weight after that, started eating peanuts, just wanted the crunch to get me through. Now, I still eat the nuts, but, I also eat because of sadness, and not wanting to do anything else.

I feel like pretty soon they will have to take my house apart to get me out....lol, no not quite that bad, but, there are a lot of days that I just don't feel up to getting up, or out and doing things like walking, so, it may happen!
