Hi Mike, I have been on Lyrica for almost 2 months now. The Lyrica alone doesn't help me. I also take 40mg of oxycxontin in AM and PM. I found the combination of both has helped with my pain and it was just a matter of days before it worked. I did a bit of experimenting to find out that it was the combination of both that helped me. How is your Lyrica prescribed? I started out on 75mg in morning and 75mg at night. After 1 week dr upt the night one to 150mg. After a week of that she had me take 150Am and 150PM but the 150mg dose in the AM made me very dizzy and I would lose my balance alot. Now I take the 75mg AM and the 150mg PM. It doesn't take all the pain away but I have felt more comfortable. The mornings are still a killer for me (as it seems to be for everyone) but after an hr or 2 I am better. Good luck with your Lyrica. Ask your doctor about upping it. Let me know how you do.

Charlotte

Remember too, that Lyrica does not work for everyone.

Hi Mike,

I have been on Lyrica for about 3 months now and if you don't have nerve pain it may not help you. I have nerve pain in my arms and feet. I am taking 300mg every 12 hours and it is helping for most of my pain along with zanaflex for my muscle spasms and for my muscle pains I also take ultrum ER 300mg once a day. ALONG WITH SOME OTHER THING FOR SLEEP AND REFLUX. But when I started the Lyrica I found relief in about a week after I got up to 300mg twice a day. not to say I still have some nerve pain at times but it is not like it was by any means.

Hope this helped....everyone is so different you just have to try things to see if they will work for you.

i just started lyrica today. 25mg 3 times a day for 2 weeks and then 50mg the 3rd week to see how i do. i pray this helps my shoulder pain, been in a flare for 3 weeks. i wont take narcotics unless i absolutley have to. i was actually scared to take lyrica because of the side effects, just took my first one now before i go to bed, so we'll see. if i gain anymore weight i'm going off it. wish everyone luck too!
