I was wondering...do most of you see a rheumatologist or neurologist to treat your FM? I was recently diagnosed by a pain management doctor...just confusted about who to try next!

I would start with a rheumatologist. If you have a lot of numbness then you should get a nerve test.
I have dystonia, neuropathy, gerd, arthritis, and fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel and other ailments. I enjoy embroidery, music, and reading my Bible and Christian books. I love to bake. I try to be very supportive and positive.

Definitely a rheumy. I do see a neuro for my migraines, which has helped. But the rheumy is the best for Fibro.

Hope that helps! Take care!

I have seen a rheumy for yrs but now he has referred me to a pain specialist. The pain dr is more willing to try diff meds to help me with the pain. My understanding is that when my pain is under control again I will go back to the rheumy for med management. So for now, I see both. Hope this helps.

I have a neurologist for the headaches, and a pain specialist for the pain, but I have never seen a rheumy. Do you think this would help? I am willing to do anything?

I don't think it would hurt Sandi!

I know what you mean when you say you're willing to do anything!!

May as well give it a try...it couldn't be a bad thing.

Good luck!
