My sister has fibro and she is on disability and all day long she lays on the couch. She has no interests in anything. The muscle wasting alone scares me for her.She has been greaving for my family that has passed away. Some days I wonder if she will take her own life. I think the only reason she won't is she is really religous.Anybody have any suggestions?

Is she on any antidepressants and have a regular doctor? Sometimes a family member has to do a sort of intervention of sorts, tell her she needs help, talk to her, and get her to a doctor.

Maybe suggest she joins this site. I am the group leader of bereavement site. i wonder if that site might help her. If she saw what others going through and advice with support from others maybe that would help. Is she on antidepressant? If not maybe St. Johns Wort might help or stupid fog HTP -5 I think thats it . I will pray she gets the help she needs. Im out of ideas but wish you the best.

I agree with singingangel! I believe it would be very beneficial for her to join this site. We would all be willing to help as much as we can. I would also try to get a group of people (friends, relatives, etc) to drag her out of the house, even if it's just to go to dinner. I know how hard it must be. I haven't been on in quite some time because my mother is battling cancer for the 3rd time. I would also definately make sure that she sees a phychologist or someone that she can talk to if she is not currently.
