My name is Cheryl and I am a 37 yo mother of 3. I also have a wonderful stepdaughter. My symptons started about 6 years ago and I have been going to different doctors and finally this neurologist finally diagnosed me with Fibro. I am not sure that I agree with the diagnosis, but it seems good. I have loss of muscle, I can't type for long, I can't write for long, I can't hold my arms up, I can't walk for long, I am having severe leg cramps at night. I can't work so we are severely hurting, but noone seems to care. If someone can please give me some help or advice I would appreciate it.

Sweetheart - we care. It sucks that you feel that way - and it sucks that the dr's haven't done more. Fibro is a hard diagnosis - and chances are they will continue to run other tests to make sure they haven't missed anything. NOW that being said - there is allot that you can do to help yourself feel better. It's treating the symptoms - but you can try different meds (lyrica works wonders for me, as do hormones, and muscle relaxers etc). but everyone one is their own puzzle. I also take vitamins and on and on... we're here... we care - we'll listen to you vent, and we're happy to help - it's an amazing group of people

We are here for you and we understand what you are going through. It's scary yet relieving to finally get a diagnosis, but then dealing with the pain can be a whole different ball game. Did your dr give you any meds to help you cope? We are all diff in what we can tolerate for treatment/meds so there is no one correct option. We have to keep trying until we find what works best for our body.

So, sit back, relax and post away. There is a lot of great information on here and some of the best friends I have ever met! Everyone here is very caring and there is always someone who can relate to what you are going thru. Welcome to our circle of support and may you find the answers you are looking for.

hi cheryl and welcome to the group. sorry you are in so much pain and so frustrated. we have all been there. I went from may 2007 until oct 2007 not knowing what was wrong. all anyone said was it should pass. they changed my meds so many times that i got confused as to what was for what. since october we finally found a regimine that sort of works and finally my doc acknowledged that i also have rls, restless leg syndrome. so now that is getting treated. like has been said every one is different but yet we are all the same. this group of people will be there to talk you through the whole array of this disease. thank you for sharing with us and keep talking.

Cheryl,

Nice to meet you and welcome. I am relatively new here, and newly diagnosed as well. It is a difficult time in the early stages of being diagnosed. Because I have been feeling stunned, and in denial, unsure of my diagnosos, and depressed all wrapped into one, not to mention being in pain. It is a lot to take in. So no worries for how you are feeling, everyone here asured me it was normal.

This group is so wonderful, they have made me feel so comfortable, everyone here is unbelievably supportive, and incredibly informative.

Please stick around puruse the boards, post messages, and send PM's to people, you wont be sorry, I know I wasn't! =)
