^^^...I was being sarcastic...^^^

its 2:35 am. where i live, the moon is full and beautiful and the stars are bright in the clear sky. It all sound perfectly peachy...except...

My back hurts, my head is throbbing, and i can barely keep my eyes lids from falling in my lap. Now if i was a normal person I would be sleeping atm, but sense life has a funny way of trying to turn me into a nocturnal creature, i cant fall asleep. I have repeatedly tried meds after meds to find a magical sleeping pill, but as luck would have it, i don't get to have the little sandman butterfly touch my shoulder and suddenly fall into a deep sleep. All the meds i have tried either don't make me sleepy enough or leave me completely zombiefied the next morning. The only med that has proven its self useful is the great and mighty ambien, but i am 17 so and the spiffy FDA hasn't granted it safe for ppl under 18. Not to mention its a narcotic and i would eventually become addicted to it, but thats only if you want to be "technical"

ANYWAY... I have recently gotten a job and would really like not to screw it up, so plz if you have anything that could help me, i would greatly appreciate it. THX - Lizard ^.^

Lagarto, welcome to the group.

I wish I had some words of wizdom to help you. Insomnia runes in my family. My 12yr old son is having problems with it now too. Not something that I would recomend, but when I have a really had time sleeping, I take Klonopen, elavil, and flexeral all at one time. These are all meds my doc gave me and told me to take in the evening if I have not slept in days.

I cant take ambian, I am one of them that sleep walks when I have taken that.

Wish I could be of more help.

the meds i take regularly are designed to make me tired when i have them i sleep like the dead. if i can't take any one of them i am up all night watching tv or playing computer games. i'll check in more often at night when i can't sleep. we can have a night owl group and have fun instead of lonliness and boredom.

Once I drank some Valerium tea, an herbal tea for nighttime. I could not believe how drowsy it made me feel! Give it a try, it should be in your grocery store tea aisle. Also Sleepy Time Herbal Tea. Dont drink any caffeine after 6 PM, try a ritual, play some relaxing music, take a hot aromatherapy bath using lavender and dont watch tv in bed.

Hope it helps you.

I forgot about the sleep time tea. Everyone in my family drinks it. I even got each of my boys a box and put it in stockings at Christmas.

Warm milk at night helps too. When I drink warm milk,I take my meds with it so that they will work faster.
