Been healthy all my 55 years. Last August though diagnosed with high blod sugar. Under control now with meds for 5 months. BUT!!! Starting in Oct. started getting pain in lower back. Pain then went to hips, buttocks, thighs, etc. Found out have neuropathy...pain is tough to bear each day. Too, I beat the cement all day at my job. Started me on Elovil in Dec. My heart rate went sky high. Had to wean off that for a month. Now been on Lyrica for (2) weeks. Now taking 300mg total a day. No real change yet. Although it seems the pains is more nerve feeling than muscle pain. Like being "plugged in". Looking for advise/help/etc. Being told that Lyrica is to buy time until 6 -9 months when I should be back to normal...by keeping my blood numbers low. Looking for friends who have been there/done that to share there stories and victories over this dreaded issue. I'm far from a whiner, but it take all this man's got to get through a day...to get home and lay flat...Thanks Friends, Mike

It takes time to work. You also need to gradually go up or you will be so dizzy you wont be able to function. I hope the dr can help you. Maybe you should call dr up since by 300 should help make a difference.
