Looking at our collective pain right now, I see there are times when the right medicine is what it's all about. I am glad the info is shared here to help with that. Just the same, I can't agree more with the post that pill-popping does also have problems - as a former pill-popper. A pharmacist even warned me that too many medicines are hard on your liver. They are constantly concerned about it as they double-check what the doctors prescribe. I was on painkillers, muscle relaxants, etc. besides the electric stim. I do have a ruptured disk so I am not sure which part the fibro is involved in that area, but I have a lot of other muscle pain and wanted to relax them using meds. I do remember my stomach didn't do well with it. BTW I wonder if everyone knows that generics can differ from the original RX by 20%? That info is online - just search. I looked it up when I had a bad reaction (rash and racing heart) to a generic of cipro, even though cipro (antibiotic) does not give me problems. I also wonder if electric stim is a therapy for everone to consider, since no medicine is involved. Of course I use ice if there is swollen tissue, heat later on, or alternate, etc. I realize some of this may not apply to regular fibro pain (but isn't ice-heat worth a try?) It is a little different than a tens because it goes deeper into the tissue. A few times lately I went back to using an electric stim by Electra Med, partly form stress and overdoing but it's an old familiar state returning - temporarly I am sure. I think it takes my body a month to settle down when it goes haywire, and I think medicine would possibly prolong that, so it is my last resort. Plus it feels just too good to be off all meds! Sharing this is not to rock the boat or anything; we are a brave bunch just to look at options, because I see many who do not even examine or want to talk about what is wrong - and act as if doctors orders were the problem. Everone here sounds healthier than that. We have comfort and hope as well by sharing. So - thanks for sharing, and it is great for me to hear what works, in case I ever need to try those meds.
