Hi, I'm so glad I stumbled upon this site. Just some of the captions related to how I was feeling, that it peaked my interest. I have had fibromyalgia now for 13 years and have been off work now for almost 4 years. I'm currently waiting on a alj hearing and am so nervous about the questions that will be asked. As you all know you can't remember anything when you want or need to. Any suggestions? I'm in Ohio.

Hi Cindysue,

I am glad you stumbled on this site too! I am in the "appeals" process for SSI, so I don't know what to expect either. I know it is hard not to be nervous, but just tell the truth. I'm sure somebody here can help you with your question. Just know that you have friends here.

Terri

Thanks for the warm welcome Terri. The appeal process was almost 2 years ago for me and now almost time (end of march) for the ALJ hearing. They say it is normal to have anxiety over this hearing, but I never realized how bad it could be. Yes, telling the truth is always good. You know as well as I do, how hard it is though to describe fibro and all the aches and pain and lifes daily challenges it presents. Take Care, hope to hear from you soon.

Welcome! All I know about the disability thing is from when I was around to see my mom go through appeals. I don't remember an actual hearing back then. Anywhow, the lawyer told us it wasn't uncommon for the first application to be denied (but you prolly already know that) Wink Well, since i'm not of much help - welocome, oncemore. I'm sure to come up with something useful now and then! Wink
