MDJunction to me

saralaurie"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

Thanks all! It's really awesome to receive such warm welcomes! Cheers and best wishes for *good enough* days to all. My mauntra today: "fibromyalgia does not define me!!" and so far I've made it out of the house (hooray!), had a 45 minute (*mildSmile) work out, and had had quality stretching & meditation. Just was sick and tired of my symptoms ruling me and decided to have a good start to my week. Here's hopin for continued energy for us all!

good for you Maria, sounds like you have the positive attitude on overdrive !!! Adewyn will be proud of you Smile

If you feel a bit sore, don't let it discourage you. My mantra today is if it's gonna hurt anyway, might as well get something productive done!!!

My brother was like that Dana... he broke his back in 2 places when he was only 23, and has been in chronic pain and fully disabled since then. One day, him and mom were on the lake fishing and he was taking more pain meds, grunting in pain, grimacing with it, etc, when mom asked if he wanted to go home, if he was hurting tha much. Mike said "doesn't matter if I'm home or here, no matter what I do, I'm going to hurt. So I may as well hurt doing something I love, as sitting on the couch. Pain's the same." so they kept fishing!

You are both so right-I am definately hurting now more than usual because of it BUT since I am sore anyway today I just decided to do it darn it! I do not typically have the courage----hahaha so do not think this is routine. I hope though that one day it can be-you see I worked very hard last year to get off baby weight and literally turn around my thinking and habits to be a more active person--but then fibro hit!!-and it has all fallen away-super easy to feel discouraged. I will try not to be though and not dwell too much on my increased pain from activity so that I will eventually be somewhat active and healthy, perhaps not like I have before but better than staying in bed most of the day (like I have tended to do since my diagnosis!) You know, I went 31 years knowing what it felt like to truly be sick and when I needed to lie down and rest in order to get better--now I'm having to tell my mind "it's ok to move when you feel this way-you will not die from it". It is just a balance and I am still learning!
