Yes, BioFreeze is like icy hot. For some reason the BioFreeze helps me more than the icy hot. I have picked up the BioFreeze at the chiropractor's office. (Sometimes they have samples too) It has helped my worst spasms when nothing else will.

Ohhhhhhhhh I LOVE BIOFREEZE!

And, it's cheap if you order straight from them online! Like $ 4.95 a bottle!

hi,

by "hyper-reflexia" do you mean RSD/CRPS (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy/Complex Regional Pain Syndrome?

you defiantly are taking the fibromyalgia junk drawer of pills but none of them are for pain which is your main complaint.

what is the source of your leg pain? do you have back, neck, or other physical problems as well or is your pain of the fibro/myofascial kind? see this link http://www.mdjunction.com/forums/fibromyalgia-discussions/ medicine-treatments/14375-best-definition-of-fms-cmp

finally: a lot of what you take overlaps, maybe you can pick your favorite(s) & stick with one or two to avoid too many side effects.

also are you regular depressed or fibro depressed ie, if your fibro problems went away tomorrow would you still be depressed? It makes a difference in what you should take.

please PM me if you respond as I'm not currently checking all threads everyday. If I know you've answered I'll check the thread

Best Regards

Bruce

Hello Bruce,

I don't know about "RSD" it was just labeled hyper-reflexia. I have been through all the electrical zapping and minimicrophones in my muscles, (OH GOD THAT HURT!). When the Doc's check my reflexes I respond with such force it hurts me, and whom ever I hit. The spasams started in my feet and legs. When I am really bad the spasams can be anywhere from my neck to my abdomin. My eye sight is going bad real fast, but I am not depressed. My neorologist is trying antidepressants r/t the side-effects of decreasing neuropathic pain, I guess. Some days just sitting is soooo painful, but trying to stand is even worse.

(forgive me in advanace for my bad punctuation and bad spelling) Are we going though the medicine cabinet? Hmm, well, let's see: Cymbalta: Doesn't really take away pain, less stiffness in joints, killer hot flashes!; Cyclobenzeprine: Good stuff, helps me get to bed - or get through a rainy day; Diclofenac: Not sure if this anti-inflam is working for me, but if I don't take it my eyesight goes crazy (and temple pain); Lidoderm Patches: helps annoying tailbone pains I get that keep me from falling asleep; Methocarbamol: only muscle relaxant my doc, so far, will allow me to take at work; Tinzinidine: had no effect on me, but apparently is some strong stuff...actually got mad at my doctor for giving me this pill. ; and last but not least, by any means, Percoset: only when it's raining and I get locked up - way too strong for daily use (for me).

My doc wants me to try Lyrica, but I'm not - I don't like the idea of using a med that's prescribed for Epilepsy...eh...not for me...to many side effects. (my life is already a series of side effects)

Nina80,

Sounds as though your medicine cabinet is overflowing as like mine.I can't take percocet it plays with my brain!! Lyrica worked for alittle while, but had to keep increasing the dose. I now take 150mg three times aday along with everything eles. The only annoying side effect from Lyrica for me was light headedness, but I adapted to that. As for rainy days, Oxycodone gets me out of bed. I know what kind of day I'm gogonna as soon as I put my foot on the floor. My husband gets up an hour earlier than I, so he gives me my meds Lyrica than I go back to slleep for an hour, this allow time for it too take effect before I attempt to get up. It is a BIG help for me.

I have a boat load too but I have too issues. I take 2400 mgs of neurontin, zanaflex, endocaf, celexa, lidoderm patches for the fibro. I have 2 ra meds 2 inhalants for asthma, and a nasal spray, and finally zocor for high cholesterol. I also use a CPAP machine. I love soaking in bath tub or moist heating pad. Pacing helps a lot. Welcome newbies.
