Hi all, Just like the rest of you I have been dealing with this for years but only recently discovered Fibromyalgia. I have all the usual problems associated but haven't heard or seen much about a flash of light in the eye? Does anyone else get this?

My doctor has yet to take me seriously but I am more concerned about my job and future.

It's currently gone 4am and my latest period of isolation is nearly at an end (I hope). Not been out of the house for days. But I did manage to get dressed today!

But what a bitter sweet relief to see there are so many others out there who don't consider me a lazy moaning wench - marvellous!

The lick of flame in the corner of my eye has been checked out by a specialist who, just like every other doc, dismissed it as - no idea!

Thanks for taking the time.

Lou

Hi Lou and welcome. You have come to a place where people understand and have gone through or are going through the same things you are. I personally have not experienced the flash in the eye but it wouldn't suprise me. I have had the isolated days where just getting dressed was a huge accomplishment. I understand your fears of your job and your future. Do you have other issues besides the fibro? I think i would have been able to continue working(maybe) but it was the neck and back degerneration that finally did me in. All you can do is take it one day at a time and wait and see. I used to always think of the future and future goals and plans and now i don't. If its a good day i enjoy it to the fullest if it's a bad day i rest and wait it out until it's over. That's not much consulationg I know, but it's honest. One thing about this group of people,we are here for each other, compassionate and caring but alway very blunt and honest. I think your going to be glad you found this place.

Thank you Sherry.

Marvellous to know such a brave and giving bunch.

Yea I have loads of stuff to get off my chest but find it hard to say too much at this point because I know how hard it is for everyone.

I have also been dealing with all the pain and other weird symtoms for years alone.

It is such a great comfort to hear from anyone on this subject.

Unfortunately I work as an engineer and the back, neck, knee, elbow pain is almost beating me but not yet! Alas! i still have my red wine!

I also thought I was going through the menopause early until I found this site.

Today I have decided to confront my doctor. If he wont help then he can kiss my sciatic aŁ%e!

Thanks again Sherry.

Thank you Devon.

Think things are looking up already just by discovering this site.

Will keep you all posted on the outcome of my chat with doc.

Why do I feel like I'm going to war?

Cheers everyone!

I have a friend with fibro and she would get the occasional light in the eye/ loss of vision. I think the first time it happened she went to the hospital. If that is what you are experiences she definately has it but I don't know how often. (I don't think everyday)

We are all in that boat. However I think if we stay in the "what-ifs" of this condition we can miss out on alot of things. I know there are people on this site who have more pain than I do- what IF I'm like them someday? Well for me I try to be grateful for the strengths I still have and try my best to rest and take care of myself in hopes to keep fibro from getting worse.

I agree. It's taken me over 10 years to find out what's happening. Tonight has been a big help to me. I feel even more determined to do better for myself and the people around me. Your kind words along with others have been most felt.

Cheers

Lou
