Hello all!

I just wanted to introduce myself, I joined a few days ago and I am still trying to figure things out. I haven't been in one of these groups before. I was diagnosed with Fibro about a month ago. I was in a car accident where someone rear-ended me in traffic on the highway in October of 2006. I was also rear-ended again last month but not as bad. It made everything hurt worse for a while. My life has not been the same since. I have seen many doctors, some that have made me cry every time that I saw them, some that have rolled their eyes at me and told me there was nothing else they could do for me. Others insisted that I get more injections, and I refused after having so many with no relief. I have been through 2 physical therapy programs, massage therapy, and I have taken so many medications I have trouble remembering them all. I am seeing a doctor now that may be okay. I don't trust him yet because of my recent experience with doctors. Anyway, besides the Fibro, I have a beautiful cat that I adore. He is one of the only things that can make me extremely happy (and warm in the winter, he makes a good heating pad). I go to school part time and work 2 jobs. I have been married for a little over 4 years, and our relationship hasn't been the same since my accident. I don't really have anyone that understands what I am going through so I am happy to have found this site. You all seem to be wonderful people going through some of the same things I myself am experiencing. I hope to learn of things that work for other people and find comfort in knowing that I am really not alone in this. Thanks for listerning!

Welcome toomuch, that's a great name. It as been too much and you're so young. Being rear ended twice, did you suffer any neck or back injuries?Make sure you inform you're husband of any info on fibro as you learn it. That way he may be alot more supportive and sympathetic as to what you're going through. There are some excellents posts on this message board to pull from. I would be glad to pm you the names and authors on this subject which has helped me understand it alot.

Post away, asks questions, vent if you need to. Everyone here is very supportive and intelligent(excluding fibro fog days )

Sherry

welcome TooMuch. you are right when you say there are alot of wonderful people here. this site has been a life saver for a lot of us. The thing you really need to try and do is control the amount of stress in your life. with your busy schedule that will not be easy. I too work two jobs so I know what the stress of the type schedule can do. Kychick is right share the information you learn with your hubby it means alot if you can have the support of your family. Sometimes it is very hard to relate what you are going through to others. Good luck and welcome aboard

Thanks to all or you for the welcome. I already feel better from the information on this site and other peoples personal stories. I will try to involve myself as much as possible, as my schedule allows. It seems I am always trying to catch up. I am a bit of a pessimist, but I am working on that. I am also working on getting my husband to understand. This will be a long process, because he is also young, and doesn't know what to do, and sometimes I think he doesn't really believes me. From my accidents I have what they call chronic sprain and strain of the neck. I have most of my pain there but it travels down my neck into my shoulders, arms, and upper back. Also my jaw and sometimes my whole body. Well more than sometimes I guess. I could go on and on, but I don't need to because you all understand what its like. Again thanks for the welcome into your group!
