i am quite new to the fibro group just joined about 3 days ago. need to vent. when i get really really ticked, i notice that my fibro kicks in 1.2 sec...lol. for example when i get all worked up, my shoulders and neck mainly kill me, not to mention ibs kicks in too, yuk. . then when i calm down , it subsides. now i do have high blood press. as well though i already take cozaar for that dilemma.

anyone else experience their fibro kick in that quick?

like i said luckily the pain goes away after a couple of hrs. now my husband realizes this so HE tries not to push my buttons, however its those who dont understand who are quick to irritate me.

Hear ya loud and clear!!! It's like it's instant!!! But, you're lucky if it goes away in a couple of hours. Sometimes a flare caused by quick 'tick-off' will last for daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaays!!!

Hey...welcome!!! I didn't even see you!! Get out here and make yourself visible our new friend!!

Oh, and hey...vent ANYTIME!! We're here!!!

Ticked or stressed- either or and my back tenses up and my arms get numb. Nobody else understands how it is to have your body take the blow for your emotions.

The key is to manage the emotions however easier said than done.

Welcome again... we all could relate!

Like suzee said your lucky it eases that quickly. I have the same problem when I get real stress all of a sudden i realize I'm rolling my neck and trying to stretch out my shoulder muscles. before you know it I can hardly lift my arms. for me it usually takes a day or two for it to settle back down

I agree with everyone here too! In fact, I had a stress flare last night and am STILL paying the price! Mine usually last a couple of days, so you are lucky that your pain eases in a couple of hours.

Welcome to the site! YOu will find many supportive friends here that can relate to what you are going thru!

Stress in an instant! Yes! I get irritated, frustrated, stressed out, or even depressed- and my shoulders (especiallythe right one) and neck start going into intense pain. Often times this just leads to a migraine.

I'm really glad that yours most of the time is gone within a few hours. That's good! But it doesn't matter how long it lasts, the pain is horrendous.

I'm glad your husband tries not to get you worked up. That's good.

Take care, and hang in there!

Amy

I can recognize my body's response, but I have a stupid question ...once everyone realizes their stress response, what do you to come down from it? I have a hard time shutting off the stress & taking care of the body...

This site is so great, Yes, when I go from 0 to pissed in 1.2 seconds I usually end up with a migrane, then later what feels like a hangover, for lack of a better description. Pure exhaustion. Have to go to bed,(my answer for everything). By the way I don't drink, I have no tolerence for alcohol.
