I am 35 years old and a mom of 2 and was diagnosed this summer with fibromyalgia. Up to now, I never heard of it. I could relate to all of you, I have all the symptoms and it drives me crazy. I am on Lyrica and it helps.

For myself, I was happy there was a name for my illness. I went through so much since then (11 years)I feel that the longer one has to deal with it, the easier it gets. You will learn a lot as you go, this is a great site.

good luck to you,

Theresa

welcome. I have Fibro was diagnoised in 1998. Mine has got worse. I started seeing a Pain management doctor and he has me on Durigesic Pain Patch and Percocets 10/325 for brkthru pain. He also gave me a script for a new med that I have to get out of Nevada. I live in New Mexico. Im also seeing a Physical Therapist because my left hip and siatica and pelvic are out of whack, he says its because people with Fibro tend to sit forward because of the pain. again welcome

Welcome home! Make yourself comfortable, I think you're going to like it here. Everyone is very supportive and quick to answer even the silliest questions (Those usually come from me).

I was just recently diagnosed as well but I have had symptoms for years, and it wasn't untill I was diagnosed that I even knew what fibro was. I had to have my Dr. explain it to me.

Havng this disorder is so hard, but surrounding yourself with loving and supportive people makes a huge difference. That's where we all come in, we're here for you anytime.

*pixie hugs*

I add my welcome also and ditto with all that's been said.

At least your over the first hurdle, knowing what your dealing with and that's not in your head or that your lazy!!!! We've all been thru that and sometimes still wonder. However, you'll have a good place to ask questions and soon you'll be familiar with everything.

Are you getting pain meds for your fibro? Also, (I'm so nosey lol)I haope you have a supportive family!? Even if that's a negative, your in the right place....

Glad you found us,

Spruce

Welcome to the forum, this place is great with alot of supportive and caring people.

I have had fibro for around a year and a half. It does get easier with support and research. There is alot of good info here. Even though most drs say this disease is not progressive it seems to some of us over the years it does get worse. I stopped working shortly after i was diagnosed and now i am a stay-at-home mom and i also started back to school and only have 5 months left before i graduate.

Hope to talk to you and get to know you soon.

Hugs, Alicia
