Greetings Fibroids!

My wife (Aquarian211) talks highly of this board and I thought I would check it out. I don't have fibro, but my wife does so maybe I can offer some meaningful dialog as the spouse of someone with this disease. But, I will say now that I am a jokester so hopefully a little humor now and then doesn't get me in trouble. Whistling

Anyway, thank you for offering your advice to my wife and I hope to return the favor.

Welcome voiceofgrog,

Ok let me start by saying all you spouses/SOs that are joing the site to support your partners are just making me plain jealous. Sincce you in particular want to voice the other side PLEASE PLEASE tell me how to get my husband to the point of doing as you have. Of course at this point I may not want him on the site since I so freely discuss his unsupportiveness lol. No seriously I again applaud all of you who are taking an interest in what your partners are going through. It is so great to have you join us and to continue to learn about things for there sack. Since ya'll are what we term normal you will have to learn to read and undertand fibrofog typing ect. lol Don't worry about you your sense of humor most of us need a good laugh to get through the day. keep it clean and yuo'll be fine

Well hello voiceofgrog!

Its great to meet the other half of reason! Your wife has brought me personally back from the brink of insanity...no joke! and its awesome to meet her support system! I wish my own husband was just as. Although only after being married a year and a half life has played a cruel joke on him. Time to adjust is what i am praying for.

WOnderful to have you here!

PS by all means we need laughter! Bring it on!

Thanks for the welcome!

Ok, another thing that gets me in trouble besides my strange sense of humor is my candor.

Snoopy, my advice to you is... Kick his butt! In general us guys are oblivious and stupid when it comes to women, much less recognize and react to whatever your needs might be.

I had to get a swift boot to the rear quite a few times from the wife but once I "got it" I knew what had to be done.

Of course my wife also taught me how to communicate. Without constantly talking to each other her condition would consume her mentally as well as physically. Now I can tell when she's pushing herself to far (Stop cleaning and sit down!) or about to eat something she shouldn't (Aren't you glad we didn't hit Burger King now?)

Anyway, if your husband is like every other guy out there... he'll need to get smacked around a bit. I'm sure you know his motivations so find a way to get him to read about Fibro. And I'm sure there are other ways you can "persuade" him... Whistling

Vanshadsyd, I can relate! My wife has made me insane too! Oh, wait... you said the opposite.

And honey, I told you I was normal... it just takes a complete stranger to recognize that. Silly

Welcome Grog's voice!

Humor and candor are both wonderful things, just remember you are dealing with people who know and may be able to influence your wife. Wink

Actually i think this is a great idea, i will mention it to my hubby and see if I can interest him in checking thisn place out. If it makes him feel as much better as it has me we could have an interesting weekend comming up Smile

Oh yeah, I don't motivate, I reward, he has to find the "right" answer on his own...lol

oh my gosh WELCOME dude! i think you have a lot to offer, not only your sense of humor, but to help people talk to their SO's to get them to understand. i have a fella like you, and he is just a crack up. but don't do computer... he has one at work, but it is just for data.

happy day to you all!
