Hi to all. I just found this forum when I googled fibro forum. This one doesn't seem to be boring and will probably understand if a word is mispelled. I was diagnosed in August and finally when to a rheumatlogist in December after several attempts of finding a dr. that new about fibro. Big stike out. Same for the massage therapists in this area. I'm on so much medicine that I feel like this little guy most of the time I always feel overmedicated. With heart disease meds, mood meds and fibro meds, my pill box is just above full. I hope to meet some nice people out there that can relate to the way I feel most days which is fatigued and in pain. I have been on Lyrica and Tramadol (Ultram) since the 12th of December. I can't tell which one helps the pain but I could sleep all of the time on both. I work full time and it is getting increasingly difficult to write or type. My fingers are swollen and my legs are really hurting today, plus I broke two toes on my right foot on Dec. 20th. and had to go to the ER at 11:30PM and got home about 1:00AM. Thank goodness that we had started our Christmas break at work. Hope to talk to someone soon. GT

hey Granny - I'm so sorry that you are having a rough time. Are you taking the majority of your lyrica at night? I take 225 pm, and only 75 am - and that helps with the sleepiness for me... but maybe you are already doing that? I also have the heart meds & fibro meds filling up my pill box... great fun! I have to be careful - so things I've run into negate my heart meds.. thats always fun! Welcome to the site

Thanks for the welcome. For now the rheumy has me on 150mg a day. I take 100mg at bedtime and 50mg in the AM. I'm suppose to do the Tramadol at the same time, but I don't know what causes what, so I only do 50mg at night. It is now about 2:30PM where I am and I am finally not feeling as dopey anymore. That is such a horrible feeling. I really need to talk to the dr. when I go back the 23rd. Again thanks for the welcome.

Thanks for your response. I, too, am a granny. I was 43 when she was born and now she is a beautiful 14. So you can figure from there but it doesn't matter. I still feel young at times. These medical problems can drag a person down fast if you let it. I had some real problem a few years ago and my depression was a major problem to me and my doctor. After messing with him I had to change due to medical insurance. I baffled this on and off for five years and like a light bulb he said he thought I had fibro. Too bad that it took 5 years to figure it out. Now we need to get the meds right. Thanks for the concern

welcome Granny I'm so glad you found us. I take the Lyrica as well right now 75mg twice a day and tramodol if needed. I only take the tramadol when absolutely nessecary because it makes me way too sleepy. I was afraid when I first started the Lyrica it would too but that effect wore off pretty quick. Now I at least feel I can function with half a brain lol

Hopefulwishful......you die for no one. You go to the Dr. when you need too. That's crazy to say things like your paranoid. Anytime you need to vent and to scream and holler, just yell, I'm here for you as I image a lot of other are. Thanks so much for writing. Somedays the "fog" in my head is terrible and I'm not sure where the keys are on the keyboard. Today was one of them but I'm so happy that I found this site. My husband, as a man, is leary about websites and thinks everyone is out to get you on the net. It's just that he never does this as nothing is wrong with him. The only reason he gets on is to find someplace to ride the harleys too. He gets the fibro, though, thank God, and stands behind whatever goes. He was there when I had the heart trouble in '05 so I know his heart is in the right place. You take care and write when you want and feel like chatting. GTaz

Thanks, Snoopy30, for the quick note. Did your legs swell on the Lyrica? I may have to get of of it and just stick with the Tramadol.

I think I'm going to like this site, as soon as I can figure it out.
