I was wondering if anyone was taking Lyrica? I have seen it on tv and was wondering if it really worked.

There are allot of posts on this site - showing both sides of it. Some can't tolerate it - but for me - starting at a very low dose & working my way up has been a life saver... I'm on 300 mg. daily - and it's made a HUGE difference.

I was one of those that tried it. I was taken off it immediatley after on 4 days because it made me really ill.

If your doc and recommends it, I would try it. Everyone's body is different.

My doc told me that he hadn't had much success with it- BUT that "everything" is worth a try. The goal is to feel better and not suffer.

Good luck and welcome to the site! You'll meet lots of friends and find lots of support here.

Hi, I am taking Lyrica now 150mg at night. I haven't noticed a big improvement. However, my doctor is convinced it will help me....if I can get the dose right and some other health stuff ok that I am struggling with. I like it a lot better than Neurontin which I was on because after stopping taking it I had really bad withdrawals. I would definately give it a try.

That is great that Neurontin worked for you and I think that it helped my pain. I just can't seem to handle going off medicine if I have been taking it for a while. My birth control gives me bad withdrawals when I take the placebo pills. Who knows? Everything is just trial and error.

Thanks everyone for the replies I have really been wanting to try Lyrica but was afraid to because of the side effects. I already have a problem with my feet and hands swelling and when I tried depakote 5 years ago I gained 70 pounds in 4 months, weight that never went away. Has anyone had any weight gain from this medication? I am now 90 pounds over weight and I have a real fear of gaining more.
