MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

What do I tell them? What kinds of questions should I ask when calling around? Besides the basic insurance question. I want someone who totally understands Fibro and the pain associated with it. How it causes depression and anxiety. I also want someone who can help with the daily stressors of life.

I don't want to call a place, tell them this, and have them take me on- only to find out that they don't believe in Fibro and/or can't help with depression and pain that comes along with Fibro, and/or be able to help me with the daily stressors of life.

In other words- I don't want someone who just wants my money. I don't open up easily and don't want to share my info with a therapist only to find out that they don't really care about "me".

Any suggestions on what to say or ask when calling would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

a good counselor should see you once free of charge. I see a woman who happens to have lupas and fibro. I would suggest you go to see someone and ask them questions. Remember they work for you. if you don't feel like they will be supportive and understanding don't go back. I love my counselor but it is difficult sometimes to find the right one.

HI I agree with coffee, good counselors will let you knoow what they are good at...if one tells you they are good with all problems, watch that one with a close eye.... I had a counselor that was just happy talking about the weather......the weather at like 90 dollars and hour..... come on ... I think I saw him about 4 times...... sorry I am a slow learner...... but now it has just become a matter of money with me ....no money.....no counseling.....

That math is easy......... I want one that will give me help in copeing with the pain...... the depression of the pain....the depression of feeling like a 90 yr old man and only being 54...dang

Hey all have a great evening

I found my counselor (who has fibro and lupus) through my church. Word of mouth is the best way to find someone. My counselor is wonderful. she is also Loretta Lynn's niece. Pretty cool.
