MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

What kind of mattress, mattress topper, or foam thing do you use that helps you get better rest and not feel so much pain the next morning?

I've been in a lot of pain here lately. For some reason though, I've been waking up in the morning worse off than the norm. I'm not sure if we need a new mattress, or if it's just my pain level.

I sure could use some advice on a good matress though, or a mattress topper, or a foam topper. We can't afford a whole lot- otherwise we'd probably get a "Cuddle Ewe" mattress topper. Those sound wonderul.

Any suggestions??? Thanks.

Hi! I'm new to this so please bear with me if I'm an idiot. I got a memory foam matteress topper, which was nice but didn't do much. I then got a pocket sprung mattress & put the memory foam topper on it. It's woderful and comfortable, but I still often feel as if I'm sleeping on beach cobbles. So it seems to me it isn't always the matteress. Mind you, i wouldn't part with the new one.

Hi madwoman and welcome!! You'll love it here!

You're right, it's NOT always the mattress. I got a new one TO DIE FOR! I would have sworn by it. Then...one day...NOT!! I HATED IT! Poor thing...I cussed it for nothing. It wasn't the mattress...it was ME!! THE FIBROMITE!!

Again...welcome to the group!

Hi Suzee. Thanks for the welcome. I have also tried one of those memory foam pillows, the one's with the 'hump' on the edge. Felt wonderful at first, made my neck much worse after a while. I've tried all sorts of pillows and now think the best is an old fashioned feather pillow like my Mum had.

I want to get a temperpedic mattress with an adjustable base. I tried one once and it was heaven. Once we got it adjusted just about all my pain was gone. Went right to sleep. Just wish I could afford one.
