Sad If someone could help me get through the everday pain of fibermyalgia, or tell me what I can do, it would very much be appreciated.

Hi Sallystar,

I am unable to take long term pain pills or muscle relaxers. For me distracting myself sure helps. So do the ice packs.

Find something you really enjoy and do everything in your power to make it possible. For me, genealogy is my interest. I have my computer set up in such a way that I can use it while lying or reclining in bed.

I'm really sorry you have so much pain.

Donna

thermacare heat pads help. I take neurontin, soma, and lidoderm patches for the fibro. Moist heating pads help also. try to find something relaxing to do. We cant get pain pills for fibro in va. lol I do take mobic and sulfazine for ra. I dont think they help the fibro or myofascial. Hope you feel better soon.

Singing Angel....where in VA are you? I live in VA, and I AM on pain pills for my fibro. It took a long time to find the right doctor, who understood, but I am on oxycodone ( Vicodin ) AND he also has me on Fentanyyl Patches for pain. An awesome doctor! So far, the ONLY one in VA I have found who understands Fibro. Really.

Salystar, I too, am so sorry you are having so much pain. Without my meds, I tend to get very suicidal. It is very hard to live with this horrid pain, day in and day out...unrelenting. I pray that you will find a good, caring doctor who will help you feel better soon. I don't feel great, and I certainly am not the person I used to be, but with my Fentanyl and Oxycodone I can function...and for me, that is a lot. I HATE having to take such heavy drugs, but they don't seem to affect me mentally or make me dizzy or nauseous anymore, so I am grateful to have them. I hope that you find a great doctor who can give you some relief. God bless.... Ellie

OH, Kathys4JC,it IS horrid that your doctor has fibro, too, but I somtimes believe that people are called to help others who are in the same boat as they are. Thank goodness she is understanding...you are one of the lucky ones!

Hi sallystar and welcome. Has your dr tried you on Lyrica yet. Since starting Lyrica I have been much more managable. Of course not everyone can tolerate it. There is alot of information on it throughout the site. I hope you are able to find what works for you soon

Thank U so much for your response. I do have a hobbie of making stained glass pieces, but I can just do that for so long with my hands and then I have to putup with the pain.

But now that I am making friends on here, I am so excited. You all just seem so great.
