Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great Christmas, pain free, of course. I'm new to this board and have been suffering with first cfs which felt like having mono for two years then the pain set in, first in my shoulder blades then all over.

I've been on ssd for as long as I can remember but having a masters in philosophy, I feel as if this damn disease(s) have taken all I wanted from life away.

I do have a new rheumy who gives me a little hope but I distrust doctors and their quick narcotic fixes to cover up my pain. Never did actually take the pain away, just made me not care about it or for that case, anything else.

I'm hoping to find some friends because I'm usually stuck at home and have some very difficult days. I have anxiety and depression which obviously comes from being in pain every damn day for over 13 or so years. It could make anyone crazy. There are days that I feel like a complete lunatic.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all and learning what works and does not work for you.

All of my best,

Kelley

Hi Kelley,

Welcome to the family and it's great to have you with us. I hope you make yourself at home here and find that we're a group of people with a heck of a lot of pain who can from time to time be a real pain WHOA! Who say dat!

And there's one of us that likes to accuse others of transgendering who I won't mention their name but the first letter of their name is "Ponderingreality" DOH!

But seriously, there's a wealth of information here to be had and a ton of love in here. Again, Welcome to the Family!

Hope your rheumy finds an antidepressant that helps and muscle relaxant. Lyrica helps some.I use the neurontin since the lyrica makes my legs swell. No narcotics here. I think I finally found a good dr. Good luck and welcome

It took me long time to find dr that worked for me. Then he retired. Hoping this neurologist does help. She has done enough tests - muscle tests and nerve test, sleep study.

Hi Kelley and welcome....You have found a great site to meet alot of people who really know where you are coming from. We are here for each other to celebrate the good to laugh at the funny to agree with you when you want to vent and to cry with you when you need to cry. This place has been a life saver for me. If you read my tale of woe on the post update on marriage seperation you'll understand what I mean. Their encouragement has meant so much to me I cant find the words to express how much these people mean to me. So welcome to our little cyber family.

Heyla CJ,

Thanks for the warm welcome. Transgender? Hmmm...I'll leave that question for another day.

I'll see you on the board. Thanks again!
