MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

Hello midnightblu,

Welcome to our group ...

I am sorry you are having such problems and pain. I hope you find relief soon.

My daily routine varies from day to day but that is because I still manage to work 10 hour days (retail...holidays). I am not worth much here at home during this time but I manage to get thru my days.

I m sure others will have pointers for you and be able to help you more than I have been able to.

I hope you have a good week and wish you less pain.

Hi Blu...I hope you don't mind me abbreviating. Welcome to the group. We're happy that you've found us.

Having fibro with all its symptoms is enough without having all of your other problems, too. All of that can make a person depressed, but we don't want it to turn into depression.

I struggle with mornings, mainly. It literally takes me hours before I can begin to function. Once I do start to function though, I don't push myself into anything.

I also have a severe chronic back pain from a near-fatal car accident, and I am required to take frequent breaks because of it. I have learned to listen to my body.

When I'm having a rough day, I rely on my timer. I set my timer for 15 minutes. I get up and do as much as I can until the timer goes off, then I take a break.

When I take a break, it's usually at my comfy desk cahair, here at the computer with my heating pad. I also set my timer for 30 minutes, to make sure I'm not on the computer for too long without at least getting up and stretching.

We all have to find what works for us, and hopefully, you'll find some good suggestions here. I'd also like to invite you to the IBS group. Here is the link: http://www.mdjunction.com/irritable-bowel-syndrome . You can never get too much support, you know.

Hello midnightblu, welcome.

First off I am sorry you are in such pain, it's extremely hard to function when your body is constantly fighting against you.

For me, on the days that the pain is intolerable I can barely function so I do as little as possible. On the days I do feel okay I try to do as much as I can w/o overdoing it so I don't pay for it for the next few days.

Oh and Starr, I love your timer idea, I might try that myself.

Denise
