I'd like to properly introduce myself,so I'm going to repost my story in the group as well.I'm fighting along my sister, and her condition affects me psychologically as much as it affects her physically:

It took years to figure out what was wrong. She hurt all over, she had terrible migraines, couldn't sleep well, she was dizzy, always tired, always lacking energy, and doctors kept diagnosing her with depression and psychosomatic disorder.

Finally, one doctor, many years ago,the first one to understand this was not a psychological disease, diagnosed her with fibrositis (a former name for fibromyalgia) but the treatment she got then was not very effective.Only 4 years ago she was eventually diagnosed with fibromyalgia and she started to get some proper treatment (painkillers-Tramadol and Advil,antidepressants-Elavil and muscle relaxants when she's in deep pain-Cyclobenzapril).

So far the disease didn't progress and she's feeling better under the treatment, but, boy, she's been through a lot.

I'm here too for anybody who'd like to talk about it.

Heya there. Thanks for the introduction.

I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. I get infuriated when I keep hearing how it takes years for doctors to make a proper diagnosis and having experienced it first hand I just don't get how a doctor can say they are in it to help people when they keep turning people away, or rather dismiss people, as if we're some terrible nuisance. Which no doubt for them we are since we don't have the simple "cure it with a pill" kind of problem.

I'm tired of our sorry excuse of a government too! Despite letters to our governor and senator who write back with hearfelt sympathy and that they are doing all they can to get the Social Security department to work in out favor is simply ridiculous. Um, your a beeping governor and a beeping senator. What are you doing in your position if you can't help with something so obviously life changing.

I'm tired of it.

Hello,Siskoray, thank you for listening and for caring.

I understand the doctors' fault in this (not all of them, just the ones that don't care or are incompetent),but how can Social Security help? You got me interested.

Hi there,

I applied for Social Security disability over a year ago (pretty much takes them about 2 years or so to finally yeild from what I've heard). My condition is so intens that I can no longer really do much more than type on the computer which is next to my bed and watch T.V. I'm hoping that with the support of my Senator and Governor that I will recieve Social Security benefits soon to help out with the financial load with my family. Right now I feel pretty much of a burden.
