I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia after experiencing strange pains in my upper shoulders and chest. They felt so sore and tender and sometimes when the docs would examine me, even the stethoscope would hurt my chest. Sometimes my scalp even hurts. It hurt to have people hug me if they hugged too hard. Since I do have osteoarthritis, I assumed that it was the arthritis causing the soreness. It does make one feel like they are crazy for sure!!! Glad to have this group to talk to. Thanks.

Hi Carmdi,

I, too, get very tender spots over different areas of my body and for sure, they are not fun .

Mine are especially at the very base of my neck and down my shins on the front of my legs.

My PCP says I show no signs of any type of arthritis so it cannot be that for me ~~~

Welcome Carmdi! As others have said, it is as reassuring as it is sad to know that others are going the same things. We will all find strenth in our similarities. I too suffer from frequent chest pains accompanied by shortness of breath. ER doc said I must be bruising my ribs during at home yoga, but I know better. I don't do any poses that would cause more pain than I already feel. I know not to over extend and I wouldn't repeat the same things that cause me pain. Even when I stopped yoga for a time, I still had syptoms. I believe these syptoms to be 'costcochondroitis' (spelling?). This condition is not uncommon in those of us with FM. I hope this has been of some use to you. Take care!
