I have been taking the combo of Lyrica and Cymbalta for several years, but feel the Cymbalta isn't working quite as well for the depression. My doc said to try Abilify with the Cymbalta, but this drug is $600 a month/with an $80 co-pay which I can't afford. I was more interested in trying Savella for morning motivational issues instead. I would love to hear from those of you who have had either good or bad experiences using Savella along with Cymbalta. Thank you.Smile

You can def go higher on the Cymbalta, I highly suggest trying that before Savella there have not been much positive feedback on it at all, the first couple days people think it's God gift until they suffer the horrifying negative side effects. Good luck I hope you find something soon. Abilify is an add on anti depressant meaning it's more effective with another. It's also used as an anti psychotic, I tried it and it worked terrible for me. I suffered severe akasathia, zombie all day and night and huge increase in appetite causing 30lbs gained in 3 weeks. It made my symptoms worse, I heard this has all happened alot but there are also many people who do great on it. Everyone is different so you need to find out on your own how it will work for you. I've seen it mostly used in Bipolar Disorder, it comes up alot more lately so drs must be pushing it more. Good luck!
I suffer from Rapid Progressive MS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Epilepsy, Migraines, Neuropathy, IBS, Narcolepsy, Arrythmia, Arthritis and too much more complete list on profile.

Welcome Earthkitty! What a fabulous profile namne!!

I take Cymbalta at 60 but I could go up too; I don't need to because I take another anti-d (Trazodone - for sleep) and my whole combo of meds keeps me balanced and pain-free. The extra sleep helps.

I think you could go up on the Cymbalta as I first choice; see if it gets better in a few weeks. I'll bet it will!

This is a wonderful, supportive bunch, as you can see already! Make yourself at home - Jeni

I took Cymbalta for two days and thought I would die. had every side affect on the book and took lyrica for two weeks and was sleeping 16 hrs a day.

I was told 60 for pain and 90 for depression.
