I am new to the thyroid group.

I am 56 years old. I have both Hashimoto's and Fibromyalgia.

In 1994 my thyroid was removed due to thyroid cancer. It was a very small and well behaved cancer....yeah! I have been cancer free since.

I need a sight in which to vent my frustration with Hashimoto's. Frankly, it sucks!

My worst complain today is my chronicly dry eyes. I carry Genteal with me where ever I go. My eyes actually give me a headache.

Hello, Trying2smile and welcome to our group. I'm also a new member and have found it quite an informative site. Also have a thyroid nodule to be biopsied. Congratulations! I am very happy to hear you recovered well and are Cancer free. Great...I have tried everything on my eyes with little to no relief. Can no longer even dream of wearing my contact lenses anymore. I have settled with Visine's Dry Eyes. Hope you find relief, somehow. Surely other members will be able to offer some of their advice.....

Welcome to the group. I don't have Hashimoto's, just a thyroid that is old and slow.
Be wise and dignified like the swan: he maintains his composure, staying unruffled on the surface, while always paddling like crazy underneath.

Hi Trying2Smile ...

Welcome to our group ... We re glad to have you with us .

I, too, have both Hashimotos' and Fibromyalgia and only a few years age difference so we are pretty well matched.

I am sorry to hear of your thyroid cancer but very glad that you are still cancer-free. I was told in '06 that my thyroid was dead and needed a jumpstart . I dealt with that for nearly a year and a half before finally being officially dx d with Fibro. Together they have almost driven me off the deep end sometimes.

Please feel free to come here to complain, vent or whatever you feel you need to do at a given time ... We are always here to listen !!!
