I've tried lots of different sleep meds and the only one that works for me is Temazepam. Not only does it help me sleep, but it also relaxes my muscles so I don't clinch them during the night.

If you clinch your teeth at night, I suggest you get a mouth piece. I've been wearing one for about a week now...It takes a few days to get used to it, but it helps. They are expensive though...My dentist charged $450.00 and insurance didn't cover it.

I stopped drinking coffee and only drink herbal tea now. Chamomile helps at night, but don't drink it right before bed; otherwise you'll have to go to the bathroom multiple times.

Eat dinner at a normal time, not late.

I don't take naps unless I have a really bad night, and even then I try to take my nap early in the day so I can stay on schedule at night.

Light exercise during the day.

Ear plugs if you sleep with someone who snores.

Take a hot bath before you go to bed.

Broken, when I couldn't sleep, I'd take an Advil. Usually within 20 minutes, I was out like a light. The other thing I did was make me a CD of my favorite soft tunes and I'd listen to it on my portable CD player with ear phones when I went to bed. It helps to think of nice things before sleep so each song I had on that CD always made me smile.

You'd be surprised how taking your mind off of the pain helps you get a better sleep.
