Why wear a ribbon?

"I wear this ribbon 4 fibromyalgia, PCOS, endometriosis and hypothyroid." (endofibro4life78)

MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is somewhere i feel safe i feel i can be myself and not be judged. I love the fact that i get to see that im not alone in what i am going through and i also get the chance to help others on their journey through guidance and communication.
I would truly be lost without MDJunction... to me its my savior, my personal place to go where i don’t feel so alone anymore in the world.

I have been diabetic for about 3 yrs. I was diagnosed this past week with Fibromyalgia. I was actually happy to finally have a name for something that has plagued me for 2 years now. My dad had Alzheimers and I was worried that at 41 I was getting it! The foggy brain I called it. The daily pain I can most days deal with. The fatigue is another thing all together.

I am here hoping I can find out as much as possible on this.

Welcome Janece, I too am new to this site. But I can tell you that a great book to get to start your research (or search) on FM is the Idiots Guide to Fibromyalgia (bad name for a book, but I've found it to be one of the best written books I've read so far). The lady who wrote it is president of the National FM Association. Its very imformative!!! The N.FM. Assoc website is pretty good too!

Still searching on ways to deal with the fatigue, I agree with you tho, somedays its worse than the pain.

Please check out our Important Links Post in medicine & Treatment

http://www.mdjunction.com/forums/fibromyalgia-discussions/ medicine-treatments/10021-important-links

There are direct links to several books that have made a profound difference in my own treatment & understanding of Fibromyalgia & its' co-morbidities & perpuating factors. There are also links to many websites (including NFA) with a lot of good information to arm yourself with.

As Fibro is so poorly understood by many health care providers you really need to be the team captain of your treatment.

mr s. has wonderful post, as usual, i have the book idiots guide to fibromyalgia, and fibromyalgia for dummies... haha (no pattern here, just look away...lol) but i found for my family that the dummies was the better one (oh that one was even better...lol). but they both are excellent. check out those sites above. And believe me, if you have ANY wonder, or question, we will be able to help, or steer you in the right direction, at least.

welcome!
