Hello and welcome.

The only change I made to my diet was taking more vitamins and supplements and avoiding caffeine.

Sorry, I don't know anything about guaifenesin.

hello, I have some guaifenesin here. The doctor prescribed it for my husband when he had a really bad sinus infection this past winter. It was supposed to break up the gunk in his chest.

Welcome to our group! I have not heard of the medicine you describe either. Have you tried Googling it? There's usually alot of good information that pops up there if you look hard enough. Also try the medicine section of this board. Someone that checks in there might know more about the medicine than others. Again, welcome.

Janilee - I have guaifenisen in the medicine chest, too, for congestion. It was a favorite prescription for my doctor in Maryland I think he prescribed it every time I saw him.

A lot of people are on the guai protocol for their FM. My FM doc prescribed it for me. I've been purchasing the pure form from health food stores.

For those that have not heard of Dr. St. Amand's Guaifenesin protocol you might look it up.

I have been taking it for 6 months now and have not noticed any change better or worse in my symptoms.

You will find a lot more people who are taking it if you look under the medicine and treatments section of this FM forum.

Sleepwalking - after six months, I think you should see some results, if you are going to. Doesn't guaifenisen perk you up a bit, as a side effect?
