Why wear a ribbon?

MDJunction to me

Macv"For me, MDjunction has been a place where I can share my experiences
living with the very rare bone disease called Ollier's ( Enchondromatosis ) with the parents of children recently diagnosed. I can help them not to run
into the pitfalls my parents did when I was young, give them a bit of a view
from their child's perspective and simply be there to offer support and
hope to people who are scared and just had their lives upended. I also belong to a chronic pain group and it's been a Godsend to be able to actually
talk with others who understand what I'm dealing with. Besides them helping me through my tough times, I can be there to help them as well. Here too, I can use my years of experience to help others avoid pitfalls and it makes me feel good, gives my life more purpose. MDjunction brings people
together when their suffering, at their darkest and feeling alone in this world and allows some light to be brought back into their lives. HOPE, that's what
MDjunction means to me!

I have lived with chronic low back pain for over 30 years. Along the way myofascial pain and fibromyalgia were added to the diagnosis.

I was born with defects in my spine, which led to the chronic pain ( as a child I had episodic back pain but in my family, we were not allowed to get sick -long story) so I never mentioned it to anyone.

I have found the chronic pain easier to deal with in many ways than the fibromyalgia.

I have been disabled, living on Social Security Disability since 1996. I am single and live with a cat.

I could not have imagined that my life would take all the unexpected turns it has. It's been such a strange journey and one too often taken alone.

I still don't know where it will lead.

I find my family and friends, despite trying, cannot

really understand what fibromyalgia is like.

So I am grateful to find a place where there are people who have taken similar journeys as me.

A very warm welcome to You kateri10. You have joined a wonderful group here full of dynamic caring supportive individuals with warm sweet hearts. Also have myofascial pains. Back problems- slight curvature of spine, too.

It saddens me greatly to hear that both your family as well as your friends fail to understand your fibromyalgia- know that others here have a similar story. Am very blessed as all my friends understand and most of my family do too, plus am v lucky as have a very supportive hubby- yet think am possibly the exception to the rule. Yet, at least you are here as you will receive much understanding plus support. So lean on us all please.

Pleased to hear that you have a pet cat- animals unconditional love is so important!!

Please take most excellent care of You! Hope that you will have a most blessed weekend.

Warmest wishes, welcoming gentle hugs, Love Clarita the bat girl from Britain Smile xooxooxoox

I love this place. I hope you will too. The caring members offer support and encouragement and friendship unconditionally. I have been on less lately with my busy schedule and the fact that I'm feeling better now with the weather change. But every couple of days I try to get on and see how everyone is doing because since I joined in December, these wonderful people have become important to me.

Welcome to our family, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm so happy that you've joined us. You've come to the right place for support and understanding, I promise you that. Many family members try their hardest but just can't get a total grasp on it, so you are not alone there.

I hope you will make yourself at home and join us often. Feel free to ask question, vent, laugh or cry with us. We're always here for one another Smile
