Hi. I have been reading your threads to FMS and I must say I can relate! I have been going to Dr's for years and been told everything is either in my head and I need a good shrink or that it is just stress. So of course I stopped going to Dr's cause I figured why pay them money if I am making up illnesses. Then my mom called me and was like hey I know what is wrong with us (as she has a lot of similar complaints) Of course I was interested and finally took myself to another Dr yet again hoping against hope he wouldnt say I was crazy. I am so glad I am not....although there are days that I am so miserable crazy sounds like my life would be better. Of course I am already on meds for my IBS and thyroid and for awhile the Dr was insistant that my pain was my thyroid until he upped my meds to the point I was almost going the other way. Now he is suggesting after another battery of tests I might have FMS, as I knew really little about it I was skeptical until I started reading up on it and found that it describes my life. My oldest found a paragraph written by the FDA that I paused on and was like hey why are they writing about you??? Ha ha. To bad it is true. Anyhow, I just wanted to introduce myself and say that it is a relief to find people who sound like I have for so long. And also glad to know that there is hope with the new meds out there! Maybe I don't have to be so tired and miserable anymore!

Hello and welcome. No it's not all in your head and I agree with you that some days crazy does sound better.

Keep reading the posts and you will find all kinds of strange symptoms that we all have in common.

Thanks and thanks for your posts my husband has been reading them too and is like ok wow now I can understand where you are coming from. I don't know if he just didn't really wholly believe me or if he thought I was just being a wuss? Sometimes he would make the comment I just don't see how you can hurt so differently from day to day. Or when I would say I am tired and hurt he would be like what else is new and of course made me feel absolutely wretched! I am so glad I found this group!

Thanks

Sheri

At first my hubby would just blow me off. He takes me to my fibro support meetings and stays in the meeting with me. Now he is beginning to understand.

Welcome to the group !!!

I m with you on the ""late diagnosis"" and ""all in my head"" with drs. I was recently (May) FINALLY given the Fibromyalgia diagnosis and sent to a Rheumy (seen him 3X now)and boy, is he helping.

I m taking 75mg Lyrica 2X a day and next Monday will start Wellbutrin also ... I m a little nervous starting a new med but if it helps, I m all over it .

Again, welcome to the group . There are a lot of good people here and you will learn alot, I m sure .
