He's only one year younger than I am, twice my size and strength. He can be a real brat, always acting as though I like being in pain all the time.

Cardboardangel, you have definitely come to the right place, welcome to the greatest support group I know. Talking about your pain isn't complaining, it's just trying to get some help,or information,or just for someone to listen who understands. I am going back to school myself to be a Health Information Specialist, changing from a 14 year career as a homecare nurse. You sound like a wonderful person and should be proud of your accomplishments. Looking forward to getting to know you better, oh yeah by the way I am 5'3" and weigh between 190 and 220 depending on the week. My bf is a bit bigger than me, we always say we are pillowy soft.PM anytime you want to talk dear.

May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.
A Native American Blessing

Thank you so much. It seems like a lot of people here have careers in medicine.

One thing I've found helpful in finding out what Fibromyalgia really is: Fibromyalgia: The First Year. A Patient-Expert Walks You Through Everything You Need to Learn and Do. It's by Claudia Craig Marek.

It's been a huge help... I was diagnosed in late March, and after wanting to find out exactly what it was, and picking up every book imaginable on the subject, I didn't pick up another one until probably mid-June. I didn't want anything to do with it, I didn't want to think that this is what I am going to be dealing with for the rest of my life. I have since come out of my denial, and am reading this book, and I'm glad I am... it's VERY informative.

Good luck!

Kristin

I may have fibromyalgia, but fibromyalgia is not me.
