MDJunction to me

tomboykimi"What MD Junction means to me is a place where i can feel like im not alone. As someone with something as rare as hydrocephalus, it feels like im the only one in the world with it. When i came to MD, its like everyone has it. It doesnt feel like im alone. And that people need to hold up a sign to say what i have, because people know. And they understand. I can get questions answered from people who have been through it rather than from doctors or people who only can tell you from a physical standpoint. THat is what MD junction means to me." Just wanted to introduce myself. I think the time has come for me to find others to talk to about this condition. It seems that no one around me undertands that I really do hurt...ALL the time....EVERYWHERE. I'm not making it up, it's been a part of my life since I was very young. I know you guys know what I mean. It's very hard to live this way sometimes. This week has been worse. May is usually a pretty good month because it's nice and drier here. Then in early June the humidity heads up the scale and the muscle pain and headaches follow.

Anyway...my name is Gina. I'm 38. Long-time sufferer and needing a little support right now.

Hi Gina! Welcome to the group! I feel as if I have had fibro most of my life too. Thinking back when I was young, I was not a very energetic little girl, I always complained of lots of aches and pains.

And YES, the humidity here is stifling, muscle aches more and headaches too.

Thank you Debbi. Yes I was exactly the same as a little girl. I think this is why some people consider me a life-long hypochondriac. But I will tell you...the few times I feel good I like to shout that from the rafters as well! There just aren't very many of those days. I remember a full 3 day stretch last May when I had energy to burn, cause I didn't hurt those days. It is amazing what physical pain can do to you. It ZAPS you. I literally crawl into bed around 8:30 every night, thanking God that the day is finally over and I can relax. I will have only been home from work for three hours, but feel like it's midnight. This makes the idea of going back to school an absolute "laugh in your face" joke. I leave the house at 6:15 a.m. and get home at 5:15 every afternoon and I am COOKED! My poor three year old. I feel so bad for him sometimes. He does not deserve, "Mommy has a headache" every day of his sweet little life.

I know what you mean. Everyone in my family used to tell me I was a hypochondriac. But at least I do have some illnesses that can be documented for their approval! LOL

I also had 5 days last summer that I woke up feeling great, no pain, no headaches, I had some energy. I thought a miracle had occured. But sadly after day 5 I woke up with the same old things. It was good while it lasted though! When I worked I used to come home at 4:30, drag myself into the kitchen to make dinner, then eat, feed the dogs, take them out to pee and crawl into bed. I was so exhausted I usually just fell into the bed and my bedtime was around 7 PM!!!!

Now that I do not work, I still am very tired by around 8 PM, and we have a new house with stairs, and I literally do crawl up them every night and fall into bed, like you thanking God that day is finally over.

I wish there was a magical energy pill.

Amen Sister! You are my twin!

Do you take any prescription meds for this? I am going to ask my doc to prescribe Lyrica for me...I don't know if it will work or not, but at this point I don't even care if I gain the weight I've heard about. I'm only about 112 pounds, so I guess a few extra would be ok.

Welcome msbailey to our family of fibromites. I no longer work either, but am going back to school to learn a new career. I crawl into bed at night wanting to hug my bed I am so glad to finally be in it. Mamanordy, if anyone finds a magic pill I hope they clone it and share it with all of us.

Thanks everyone. Yes,yesterday was awful, but today has been much better. I have been very busy today in the garden, putting up vegetables. Yesterday I wouldn't have been able to do that. Hoping that Monday's Dr's appointment will get things rolling in a good direction. Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.

Welcome to the group Gina. When you can count the good days on one hand, you have fibro. It stinks but just remember it stinks for a lot of people just like you. You are not alone. Hang in there.Cool
