Hello All!! my name is Sarah!! i am new to this website! i have been diagnosed with FM for 4 years now. i believe i have had it since i was about 11. im 18 now. everyone who meets me and finds out about my condition is so surprised to see it in "such a young person." well let me tell you i dont feel young! i live with my mother and 74 yr old grandmother and her and i are always joking around about whos in more pain. that is on the days i can get out of bed...i try to have a positive attitude and try to live as normally as possible. i try not to let FM take control of my life... but its hard to try all the time... most days i just want to say screw it and just stay in bed...some days i do...so anyways i just wanted to introduce myself to everyone and say hey! my life is an open book so ask any questions and ill do my best to answer!

Love Sarah

Welcome to our group Sarah! You will find a lot of hope, support, and strength, hints and tips about treatments and meds that have helped others, and a safe haven full of loving, caring people who suffer as you do and always understand where you are coming from.

We are a large site, and we cover a large range of ages (although nearly all of us feel like we are 100 on any given day!)we are both males and females, and there are some gals about your age who have become members fairly recently. This is a hard thing to fight alone and to have to suffer through, and even harder for those of you who are still so young and with so much life, plans, dreams, etc. in front of you. I hope you will get the chance to meet some of our younger members, and you all can send personal messages to each other, or post discussions just for young people in our "lounge" where any topic goes (as long as its not offensive). I hope you will find many new friends here and lots of hope and support!

-Sherry

Hi Sarah.... I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to the group..... I know what you mean when you say you don't want fibro to take control of your life.... I do everything I can to help keep me in control of my life......

I think you have come to the right place.... this is a great group of people who can help you in so many ways..... the information that you can get here on meds, treatments how to work with your doctor and just how to survive the day...... We are a group of people here to help each other...... we are in so many ways a family.....a good family....

There are people here that are going through or have gone through the same things that are ..... and that in its self is a lot of help, just knowing you are not the only one..

Please just kick your shoes off and make yourself at home here....... Post any question or problem you want to talk about, and also answer any post you want..... If you just feel like venting..... do it, tell us about your day, good or bad.... ... The one thing we can not help you with is something you do not tell us about..... we are here for you.... there is an ear and a shoulder here for you always... we are family..... so with that there is always going to be advice......... you will get tons...of that, but hey what are families for....lol

oh yes also, if you have not, please fill out your profile so that other members who might have missed you intro, can look at it and get to know a little about you..... Have stuff like where you live, what you like to do..... when you DX'd , and what else might be going on with you... the more info the more others will be able to relate to you......

Again Welcome....

Craig

Nice to see another young person taking an interest in explaining their condition and staying strong. I am 24 and I know what you mean when you talk to people and they just say "but you're so young"... age means nothing to me and really Fibro just makes me stronger as I cope with it everyday. Lets keep our young mentality and keep growing strong!
